Clean specious rooms with a coffee machine. Wanted to compliment David in security on night duty. Hotel surround has some unsavory characters but hotel has very good security to watch out for its guests Good option for DC for location. Restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Lift a bit temperamental

Hotel's Favourite
We have stayed at this hotel numerous times just to get away from our house for a quick weekend. It is conveniently located near a CVS, Harris Tetter, and the NOMA Gallaudet Metro Station. There are plenty of restaurants near by as well. Staff has always been super friendly. Parking is valet only and is cheaper if you purchase as part of a package ($25 compared to $50 daily). We usually just park our car and use the metro or walk everywhere. Access to any floors after floor 3 is by room key only. There is an indoor swimming pool (not large) but it was fun for my kids. DC is experiencing a major homelessness issue (as is many major cities) and there are many homeless around the area. However, they are always polite and I’ve never been afraid or experienced anything that I would be offended by. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone coming into the DC metro.

This hotel has room for improvements. The cost of the rooms and the booking of the rooms. Both were confusing and cost more than quoted. The booking of the rooms had our stay for two nights and one room for one night instead of for the entire 4 night stay that I booked.

Hotel was good, clean and the staff were very helpful. The location is still upcoming and going through gentrification so watch out for those odd situations. Else everything is close by and walkable. The train station is behind the building

Horrible experience. I was charged $212 for a valet parking. It happened in July and I am still waiting for a refund. What a scam. Please be aware and check your charges. Even the Corporate stated that are not able to communicate with the staff in this hotel.

I enjoyed my stay for one night. First of all I must say how important the staff made me feel when I walked into the hotel, Tanisha was so helpful, polite and sweet, she helped me check in easily without any hiccups. I was able to go to the second floor and sample one of their appetizers and had a Patio Punch, the drink was awsome. The bartender was so pleasant I'm so sorry I didn't get to ask her her name, but I will assume that she I there most of the time, she looks like she runs things nice and smooth at the bar. The hotel was very clean, there was 3 different flavored iced water to have at your leisure. My room was nice and cool, clean and spacious. The hotel is located near the metro, I would say a 10 min walk very easy to get to, there are many places to eat around there. There is also a supermarket, CVS and a bank close by. The only reasonwhy I gave it a 4 and it's not the hotel's fault, there was a homeless person's tent across the street and there are certain "characters " around. The hotel door lock at 9 pm and the only way to get in is by using your room key, which I really liked, safety is very important to me. Otherwise I enjoyed my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn.

This hotel is quite a walk to the Capitol I have to say, especially in the heat of the day. But it was nice enough. Felt clean and facilities were good. The staff were friendly and nice. They were nice to each other as well as to customers which is always a sign of a good management culture. When Aer Lingus made a total hash up and lost our suitcases for the whole trip (got them back at the airport when we left!!) the hotel were very sympathetic and helped us find replacement items. Even offered to phone the air line for us. I would say one thing does need looking at. There are well documented rules on swimming pool usage on the wall, no drinking, smoking, horse play etc. But one early evening when my teenage son was trying to swim a couple came swigging wine, playing very loud music and smoking. Front desk sent security who did absolutely nothing. Had a nice giggly chat with the couple and then left. If you are going to set rules then please enforce them. I tried myself to ask the couple to turn their music down but after they ignored me we just had to leave. People want to enjoy themselves on holiday. I am all for that but people should have the self awareness not to do it at other people's expense. And the hotel needs to step up when things go wrong. So a passing grade for this place mainly on the attitude and friendly staff. But could have been better.

We recently completed a 5 night stay at this property. The location combined with price point is what attracted us to this spot. We were not disappointed. The subway station is just around the corner from the hotel. It is only one stop away from Union Station which was fantastic as we took the train in! Next to Union Station is Capitol Hill! Our first day there the air con in our room was weak. They sent an engineer up to inspect it and offered us another room - which was much cooler! The staff is super friendly. Every day we were greeted with a hello. The price point combined with convenient location with the bonus of excellent staff makes this a solid choice for a family looking for a convenient spot with a moderate price point. Oh - and it has laundry! 2 bucks for a wash and 2 bucks for a dry! A bonus bonus when you're travelling with kids....or just want to wear your favourite shorts again!
