Visited Washington at conference time when at least 15,000 had arrived for one conference so the city was packed, accommodation scarce and very expensive. This place was pretty much a glorified backpackers with awful old beds, dreadful mattresses, a 1940's lift, paint peeling from walls in chunks and everything creaks. Needs a serious overhaul. $5 breakfast available - apparently fruit... More

The location is great: convenient to DuPont Circle, Rock Creek Park, and the Metro. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and I had no problems with my reservation or check-in or check-out. On the downside: the lobby area is shabby, I strained my shoulder trying to open and close the manual doors on the antique elevator (I eventually... More

Was notified at 830pm after landing from a flight that I was rebooked to their sister property - the windsor inn. It was too late to find an alternative, but there were zero accommodations made for THEIR error. To make it worse I was told "oh come on, it's a cheap bed and breakfast who cares" Horrible service, blatantly did... More

I know that Washington is one of the places on earth that hotels are really expensive. As in Rio de Janeiro for instance. But charging 500 dollars a night to a guest house self called as hotel must be a joke. Just take a look at the picture I took and the furniture of my room. At least the room... More

This is near DuPont Circle, so very conveniently located. We could cover all the monuments and National Mall on foot. This is between National Mall and Georgetown, so we covered both. Its a very small hotel, near the Indian and Indonesion Embassies. The room size is extremely small, but had TV and WiFi. The breakfast was not worth the $5... More

The rooms are simple and clean and the hotel rates a 4 for those who are not put off by the untidy hall that serves as the front desk area. Fortunately the worst part of the hotel is where you enter and the staff is courteous and knowledgeable. It is in a very good area for eating and hanging out... More

I chose this hotel because of location and cost. Was pleasantly surprised after reading a lot of the reviews. Yes it isn't 5 star but if you want 5 star pay for it!! Was welcomed by receptionist and given cards to our room (410). Lift is a bit of a challenge with the sprung door but I only used it... More

I stayed at this hotel 18 months ago, and I don't know whether I got really lucky then or really unlucky this time. I'd read the recent bad reviews of this hotel, but based on my previous stay I thought 'better the devil you know', boy was I wrong. We stayed in a room in the back corner of the... More

I choose this hotel because of its location. Short story: pay another $50 extra and book any of the 3 newer hotels within a block from this hotel. Try to avoid Baron if you can. Check in is at 3:00 we arrived just before 3PM, there is a bar and a club on 1st floor and place is near George... More

We thought it was a decent hotel but realized that we read the wrong reviews! We arrived at the hotel with 2 large suitcases, asked for help and promptly were denied of any help. Not only the guy at the desk was indifferent to us, but he was a lttle rude, maybe because I mistook his nationality for other than... More
