We have stayed in this beautiful building before and heard it had been renovated so we returned to look around before having lunch. The decor of the lobby was very well done. The restaurant and bar area is spacious and bright. The spacious outdoor seating and bar areas are amazing. We intend to take advantage of it when the temperatures...

waterandmore - our neighborhood is fantastic with so many of Washington DC's famous attractions nearby. And a foodie can absolutely find an assortment of great restaurants from our own Dirty Habit to the amazing choices all within easy walking distance. And our outdoor courtyard officially opens late Spring so please return soon.

We were there for 4 days, and it was a fantastic location for us. We walked everywhere. Staff was very nice. Room was small and the windows wouldn't open, but it was nice and very interesting if your into historic places. Home of the first post office and telegraph sent in DC or anywhere. Food was ok. I travel so...

I felt like a head of state visiting Washington D.C. during my first stay. Beautiful lobby/reception, great décor, professional staff and royal hallways on each floor to the rooms. But even though they treated me as royalty / the ambassador my favorite detail was the bicycles available to borrow. I will definitely stay here again when I return for a...

I had to write a review to compliment the hotel on their embracing so many people who walked in to rest their weary legs on the Day of the women's march in DC. The lobby was busy, the bar was packed and although we clearly weren't staying there (5 of us) we were welcomed openly. We got coffee and drinks...

I selected this boutique hotel based upon the brand name, the newly renovated décor and proximity to my worksite for 16 days. My travel agency recommended this hotel right after the Grand Hyatt...but I chose Kimpton Monaco and it was a BIG MISTAKE. I called ahead of my arrival date to request a deep cleaned room since they allow pets...

You are correct I have been made aware and there is no satisfactory answer for your issues regarding guest room security or our billing procedures. I normally stay with lovely friends in the DC area but was travelling with another friend from where I live who likes fine hotels. This was a splurge. The lobby is pleasant with lots of seating. As other reviews mention, they have a happy hour here in the early evening. Front desk was helpful and placed my friend's room next...

My husband, teenage son and I stayed for 4 days at the beginning of January (just in time to see the Xmas decorations being taken down) and everything about this great hotel was perfect. It is the old Post Office building, a beautiful Victorian grand affair with high ceilings, incredible architecture and a real 'wow' factor. It is in a...

What great comments. Thank you and I hope you get a chance to 'bag' a number of fantastic Kimpton Hotels in the United States and abroad. We're about to open our first hotel in Europe in Amsterdam! Again, thank you

No coffee maker in room, some rooms very little drawer space, closets are very tiny! The restaurant in the hotel lacks much to be desired. Never got the coffee ordered for breakfast, they had to "find" the cranberry juice at breakfast, the late night menu is extremely limited! Won't be stay again.

Stayed here in early January after spending 4 days in new York. The contrast was huge - not just between the cities but in the quality of the accommodation. Probably one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Stylish, great rooms, huge bed - but attentive staff and many extra touches thrown in that were invaluable - none more...
