Don is a fascinating host, full of stories from his years with the Washington Post, National Geographic, and the journey to his first novel. Eric cooks unique and delicious breakfasts like a 5 star chef, with his own share of stories if you're inclined to hang around and chat. Logan Circle is an easy walk from the National Mall museums...

Fabulous for a couple who enjoys a quiet room! We stayed in the Magnolia Room for 5 heavenly nights! Two block walk gets you to restaurants, coffee house, Whole Foods, theatre and much more. Grab bus #54 to the National Mall, it runs all the time. Or a cab ride is so close it's inexpensive. Beautiful breakfast, convivial conversation with...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this inn! The sitting rooms were so beautiful and comfortable, with their antique sofas. The room was lovely, the air-conditioning welcome. The host was an interesting guy, fun to talk with. We ended up ordering the book he wrote that was recently published. Very conveniently located on the beautiful Logan Square.

July, you are so kind, and thanks so much for taking the time to give us this great feedback. Thanks also for buying my debut novel, "The Constable's Tale," which has been getting very nice critic reviews, including from the NY Time Review of Books last week. Hope you like it too!

We had a wonderful time and stayed cheaper than if we had stayed at a busy hotel, with a great breakfast every morning to boot. This home is located right within Logan Circle. We fed the birds every morning in the park. They come right up to your feet. The home is located in a very nice neighborhood within walking...

All the charm and elegance of a bygone era on historic Logan Circle, the Chester A. Arthur B and B is an oasis near the downtown area. We parked our car behind the inn and used convenient, close by public transport to tour the sites of the capital. Owner Don Smith was on hand to greet us and Eric and...

Thank you for your generous words. Our central location is among the most often mentioned reasons we hear for staying with us. We have about 40 restaurants within a 10-block radius. We also appreciate your comments on our candle-lit breakfast experience. I (Don, the owner) think that's my favorite part!

When traveling for business I appreciate the feeling of being home and not in a cookie-cutter chain hotel. The Chester Arthur House B & B at Logan Circle is in a great location to easily get around the city and is walking distance to several great restaurants and coffee shops. Don and his staff do a great job keeping this...

Thanks for your nice comments. As one (owner Don) who has traveled around the world for the National Geographic, I couldn't agree with you more about preferring B&Bs. We try to provide the both of best worlds: the personal and geographical connectivity of a B&B, and the same level of professionalism as a hotel. Hope to see you back!

Stay here for the experience. Safe and historic neighborhood. Don and Carl are great to talk to. Breakfast made by Carl is so delicious. You also get to chat with other guests since the breakfast is served at 8am. My boys also enjoyed their stay (in highland suite). We took a cab since we were 4 of us. It was...

Lovely stay in welcoming, comfortable Victorian home. Don, the gracious owner, greeted us when we arrived and made us feel at home. Breakfast conversations with Don, hosts Carl and Eric, and other guests were fascinating, rich, and delightful. Breakfasts were varied, delicious. My granddaughter Loved Eric's french toast! What a wonderful experience. Overlooking Logan Circle we enjoyed the cycles of the city in a room transporting us back to the late 1800's. The owner, Don, was a convivial and enchanting host. He familiarized us with the area, as well as with the house. We enjoyed his company at breakfast, as well as that of fellow visitors. We were...
