Ordinarily, I have zero inclination to take the time to write an online review, but my stay last week at the Mandarin Oriental was such an amazing experience, I've decided to download the "TripAdvisor" App just for the sole purpose of thanking the staff who made this the BEST vacation of my life! Compared to every other east-coast American hotel...

I come here each year for a work conference and the Mandarin never disappoints. Everyone from the friendly check-in and welcome tea to the restaurants staff are 5-star and more. The rooms are beautifully and classically appointed with no signs of wear or lack of upkeep - always immaculate. Location is great whether you're hear for a an official "hill"...

Dear Love2TravelLuxfromCA, First, thank you very much for the very kind five star review of Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC. We are glad that you are a fan. Second, yes, you do need to visit the Spa at Mandarin Oriental. Its not an indulgence. Even if you just visit the aqua treatments after a workout, we've designed our Spa to provide...

Terrible service compared to Asia and Europe. I was literally dragged out of my room at noon with the most obnoxious and unwelcoming attitude I had experienced in any hotel. The staff has difficulty understanding any request that is 'off menu' or slightly tailored, the spa is average and over priced, the concierge is extremely unhelpful, plus the location is...

The hotel lives up to the expectations of the Mandarin group. Lobby is large and attractive, with attentive and helpful staff that deal with requests quickly and accurately. The rooms are large, comfortable and quiet. Not sure anywhere has better beds than the Mandarin - always guaranteed a great nights sleep. The bathrooms are large and top quality, both in...

We moved to this hotel on the tail end of a business trip. The lobby is beautiful and the bartenders know their business. The guest rooms are beautiful and the little details add to the experience: great pillows, a bar stocked with tiny Hendricks gin and fever tree mixers, snacks from dean and deluca. The gym leaves something to be...

beautiful hotel and location off the beaten path, on the basin. as beautiful and immaculate as this hotel is (this is our 2nd visit in 3 months) it is the staff that makes it fantastic. I especially want to thank our waiter extraordinaire, Elvar from the Muze for making my son and I always feel so welcome. The pool area...

The hotel very much would like to consider a itself a peer with the likes of The Four Seasons, Fairmont, and Ritz. Its real strength is in marketing the brand of luxury but clearly has no idea what that means in practice or how to execute it. We had to ask about almost all amenities, including hotel restaurant, lounge, pool,...

We experienced a beautiful afternoon tea here. The service was wonderful! It was a lovely way to pass some time in the afternoon before heading back out into the city. This hotel also has a wonderful location. It is very close to The National Mall and other points of interest.

An outstanding hotel. Service is exceptional. Great location. Ask for Lynn of the Concierge Service. Great tips on tours, restaurants, etc. The hotel limo is for use, if available, during the day and is for Club Level reservations. The fitness center is great. Would highly recommend the High Tea. The Club Level is a little more expensive but well worth...

Stayed at the hotel for a conference at the end of March. I've stayed here in the past, where I've liked this hotel, and have always been impressed with the Mandarin Oriental chain in general. Food at the property is great. The only downside is that my room ended up being right near the train tracks that run near the...
