I enjoyed my two night stay in the Topaz (I was on business in DC). It’s well located (although a little walk from the subway) in an old style street. The hotel itself is tastefully decorated. The rooms are spacious and sympathetically laid out. Don't be put off by the somewhat small reception area which can get a busy at...

Hi zyquix, Thanks for the great review! I'm the world's biggest fan of the South entrance of the Dupont Circle Metro reopening. I might even throw a party. I'm glad you had a relaxing stay and were able to take in some wine and some ambiance. Thanks again, Donte

Washington DC is one of those cities that has always loomed large in my head but I’d never really made much effort to spend time in. For me, it always conjured up images of national monuments and politicians, you don’t actually go there for a vacation. Well, we were pleasantly surprised by our time in DC, and we found a...

This hotel has so much going for it-- great location, lovely decor, clean, spacious rooms, valet parking. Room rates are very competitive, and the $40-something overnight parking fee includes in and out privileges. The beds are very comfortable, and I love the duvets with white sheet coverings. Maybe it's just me, but it seems miles cleaner than the typical nasty...

A nice place to stay with a family of four. The room had 2 queen beds and was large enough to accomodate us (and our bags). Close to the DC attractions, and felt like we were in a very safe area. The staff are very professional and good with guests. They currently have one elevator out, and it does back...

We stayed here while our power was out for two nights. The hotel is centrally located near Dupont Circle. If I was a tourist in DC, this location is nearly ideal. The rooms are well appointed and modern. The beds are comfortable, the furniture is in good condition and our room had a flat screen tv. If you belong to...

I found this hotel as a result of a last-minute trip to Washington, and I couldn't have been more impressed. The front desk staff was friendly and attentive, and was very collected even on the weekend of DC's major power outage that caused everyone to scramble for hotel rooms. Also pleasantly surprising was the complimentary wine for hotel guests -...

Stayed 13 nights at the Topaz. First thing I can say is that the staff is very friendly. From the front desk to the housekeeping, they all make you feel very welcome. After a few days, I really felt at home chatting with the staff on my way to/from work. The rooms are very spacious and the amenities are great...

Hi boricuajetsetter, Let me start by saying that we clearly have similar taste in hotels because Topaz is my favorite, too! (for the record, I never allow my opinion to be influenced by those paychecks every two weeks, either) I also love that Y around the corner. You can't beat an indoor track, basketball court, rock climbing, racquetball, and an...

Stayed 3 nights at the Topaz, it's a really nice hotel, located close to transit (3 blocks to metro station), lots of restaurants and other attractions. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfy and spacious, with an in-room safe, lots of pillows, nice shower with good water pressure and very well furnished. The only thing I didn't...

My wife and I recently stayed at the Topaz. We come to the city pretty frequently for overnights, and decided to branch out - to see a different neighborhood and explore other areas of the city. We were familiar with the other Kimpton hotels in the city, and regularly stay at the Monaco. Our stay was fantastic. The front desk...

Hello coupleofdocs, Thanks for the fantastic review! It's great to hear that you enjoyed your visit. The Monaco is an awesome hotel and one that we're proud to be compared to. Kelly does an amazing job here and prior to that did so at the Monaco, as well. Our Director of Housekeeping and I, both, also worked there before coming...
