I was intrigued by this hotel. I really wanted it to be luxurious and amazing. I knew the hotel's history, including that not that long ago it was a Ritz-Carlton property. I expected superior service and flawless rooms. The location is absolutely amazing, just a couple of steps from Dupont Circle, but far enough away that it is relatively quiet...

Fairfax is not only the hotel with the bets location in DC but the service is spectacular, room was ready on time and the staff was amazing. The breakfast was good and a very fair price compared to other in the area. Very close to restaurants, bars and metro station. I was able to meet the Director of Rooms Ertug...

This hotel has lovely rooms and is good to look at and very clean. It is not too big, and has a nice atmosphere. The staff are really helpful. But can you believe it, the management removed all the cutlery and crockery a month before I stayed there in March, and replaced it all with plastic! Besides being environmentally unfriendly...

Nice hotel, clean and very quiet. Very close to the Metro and easy to get around the local area. Make sure you join their loyalty program and get free Wi-Fi. Had no problems at all the entire 5 days we stayed.

Stay at the Fairfax at Embassy Row regularly - my regular "go to" place in DC. What I really like about this hotel is a great location and walkable to many restaurants and Dupont Circle. Booked hotel late for a conference at the Convention Center, so this was a little out of the way. But very near Dupont Circle and two blocks to Metro station. Hotel staff was friendly, rooms are well sized with work area and sitting area for TV. No room service and the bar and restaurant area staff were very busy.

I arrived assuming, of course, a 4 star hotel would 1) provide room service, 2) provide bathroom slippers, and 3) have a polite, discrete and friendly staff. WRONG! While the rooms are beautiful, they do NOT provide bathroom slippers, there is no mini bar, no half and half for in room coffee, an antiquated TV and remote system NO room...

I recently travelled to the DMV area for an arts advocacy conference. The staff was friendly and it was a great environment to get work done. This is a well known hotel of Washington, DC. Several popular leaders like Wife of JFK Kennedy etc have stayed at this place. Situated right opposite Indian Embassy, it is a corner property at a great location. You have Starbucks, an Indian and Afghan restaurant nearby so that you get different varieties of cuisines. Not much of traffic. So, nice...
