A historical hotel we stayed during our washington dc visit because of the location and we wanted the experience. Stayed for 5nights. Everything was good except for unpleasant odor passing by the bfast area near the toilets. They need to have regular cleanings on their toilets specially its often crowded and busy. Rooms were spacious, not sure if bottled water is not really free here just like in other 5star hotels but after the first day, but it was just disappointing that when we requested for water they sent the kids size bottled water and on our next days... no more. .other than that everything was ok. Suggestion.. Being a luxury hotel and hotel room rates are not cheap... pls provide at least a regular supply of bottled/drinking water for guests! Tipping is a thing in the US so its more expensive tipping the guy delivering the mini water bottles to the room than buying ourselves a case of water from target.

Hotel's Favourite
The location does not get better. This hotel is located in the heart of DC, within walking distance to most attractions. The hotel itself is beautiful if a tad intimidating on arrival. However, the friendliness of the staff is incomparable. The attention to detail sells the stay. I will definitely return.

Fantastic ambience in lobby. Bar was very crowded, but was a pleasant place to grab a beverage. Junior Suite room was very large, clean and adding technology for more plugs/ports was a nice touch. Bathroom was very classic and nice. Breakfast in the cafe was pretty good. Door to the room didn't work quite right and security lock was broken. Front desk was apologetic about that. Staff was very helpful. Solid 4.5 Star experience.

My friend and I did a birthday weekend/staycation at the Willard. The pros: room was ready for check in at 1:00pm as requested, everyone we encountered was friendly, to was clean, great historic ambiance and lobby, amazing location and views, quiet for being in the heart of the city, comfy robes and slippers in the room, room was quite spacious, nexpresso in room coffee maker was nice, and good amenity kits. Cons: the hotel needs a facelift, lots of cosmetic damage in room, particularly the bathroom and one of the beds squeaked and leaned to the right, the lobby furniture was ripped on spots and some looked like it needed a deep clean, long lines to check in and out and no option for quick check out, have to pay 35.00 just to store things in fridge. Spa - no hot tub or indoor pool. Overall lacking in amenities. Spa is very small only a few people working, hard to get appointments. It is also located right next to the gym which is crowded and loud. My friend had a massage and really liked it. My facial was okay but overshadowed by constant attempts to upsell services even after declined, this really made me unable to enjoy the service which overall was decent . The intake form had an option you could check to say you did not want products recommended and they should also have an option to not upsell me. The services are very expensive to begin with with an added gratuity of 20% (automatic) so while I think it’s fine to offer it’s not okay to continue to push the services and to go so far as to insinuate the facial results would be poor if the services were not added on. Very aggressive and pushy upselling when you are supposed to be relaxing is no fun. Cafe Du Parc -we went for brunch and the menu for Sunday brunch is extremely limited. There are no traditional breakfast foods like pancakes or waffles and despite them being on the breakfast menu they would not prepare them for us. The menu on reserving does not make it clear you can only order from the Sunday brunch food. They opened after the time our reservation was appearing to all be in a meeting and there was a long line . The service was very slow and the waiter never checked back. It was not busy at all and I still had to flag down our waiter twice to refill drinks. He seemed overly focused on resetting tables rather than the customers. He also seemed new though so we cut him some slack. We got two burgers with bacon and egg. The egg was listed as fried but came sunny side up (runny) and the bacon was very spicy but the burger was quite tasty. I think my expectations for a hotel of this level were high and they were not met. I would stay again but it would not be my first choice.

5 Star Great Experience. Welcoming staff and great location in a traditional luxury hotel. The major tourist sights all within walking distance from the hotel. Hundreds of restaurants nearby. Great views from rooms which face the Washington Monument . Would definitely return to Willard

We had a disasterous few nights at another hotel and bolted to The Willard for our last two nights. It was so worth the aggravation of repacking and moving as we arrived and were so warmly welcomed. Siri, at the front desk, was so professional and polished, it was as though she had been waiting for us to arrive all week! This hotel is a gem, from a gorgeous lobby to the beautifully furnished rooms. The staff is unfailingly friendly and helpful. It was simply remarkable. The coffee was the only disappointment as I love a good cup of coffee, but it was awful.

This is an historic hotel near the White House and Treasury Department. One of the staff told me that it is a frequent host to Heads of State and to Presidents. On the Inaugural Parade Route. We were there for a wedding. Crystal Room is really lovely for a wedding. The ballroom works very well as a wedding reception space. Plenty of room to dance and mingle. Staff is engaged. Food was far better than the usual hotel fare.

We enjoyed a very special anniversary night at The Willard Intercontinental. I’ve lived in Washington DC for more than 30 years, but like most natives have rarely taken a vacation in my home town. I’ve always been fascinated by the long and storied history of The Willard, but never experienced it first-hand. I booked a regular one bedroom suite for my husband and I to celebrate our fifth anniversary. The Willard Intercontinental is dog-friendly, so we brought our dog with us to celebrate. A couple of days before checking in, I discovered through the IHG app that we were being upgraded to the Abraham Lincoln Suite. I am Intercontinental Ambassador and IHG Platinum Elite, but this upgrade exceeded all expectations. We arrived at the hotel and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The suite was very well-appointed and huge! We brought our own champagne and ordered a room service dinner up to our suite. The food was delicious, and not as expensive as we were expecting. The fact that this suite had a formal dining room, and a small catering kitchen made dining in the suite very convenient. After dinner we took our dog out for a walk to the Washington Monument and the White House….both only a 5-10 minute walk away. Thanks to everyone at The Willard Intercontinental for making our fifth anniversary so magical. We really appreciate it.

Okay I can see why J. Lo stays at this hotel. I chose this as a staycation due to the previous posts on here. As soon as I arrived at reception, Ramsey demonstrated the hotel's quality service by hooking it up with an upgrade to a junior suite. I was wearing a mask, but I know he saw my smile! The entire staff was very polite and accommodating. The food was SOOO good! After room service I ate even more (truffle mashed potatoes and risotto) at the Round Robin Bar. The only con was the spa was closed and I wasn't alerted to the fact earlier. I'd recommend scheduling a service beforehand. Also the fitness center is under renovation so I had to go next door. But not a big deal (and they have Peloton bikes and boxing speed bags so I got my Rocky on). On my way out I was thanked for my patronage. Smiles in and on the way out, thanks the Willard! I'll definitely be back at the bar for an Old Fashioned and truffle mashed potatoes! :)
