We fished and lodged with Whaler's Cove for the second time. They know what they are doing to be able to find the fish and make their guests comfortable. The staff is really great, the food is always very good and more than ample. We...More

Very kind of you, my friend! So happy your crew enjoyed everything, and I agree with you about the smoked salmon!
The entire experience at Whaler's Cove lodge was amazing. The fishing was phenomenal and the service and attention to detail by the staff was the best I've ever experienced. The food was 5 star across the board. Cannot say enough about this amazing fishing lodge....More

Yes. My wife and I travel from Knoxville to Atlanta where we pick up a flight to Seattle then onto Juneau one day early (Thursday). We then use the next day (Friday) to pick up the beverages we take over to Whalers Cove (you can only bring alcoholic beverages with you - you cannot buy them there). We also go to downtown Juneau for sightseeing and eating at the "Hangar" a great restaurant right on the pier where the sea planes take off and land. We usually rent a car for the day to take these trips. You can also drive to the Mendenhall Glacier. They have a great visitor center and you can walk out and see the glacier up front an personal. We stay at the Juneau Travelodge which is within walking distance of the airport. We then get picked up at the Travelodge early Saturday morning (around 4:30AM) by a Whalers Cove staff person for a bus ride to the ferry terminal. We then take a 3 hr. ferry ride to the lodge. We fish for 7 days. We return from Whalers Cove lodge on the same ferry that took us over who are bringing in the next weeks fishermen. We arrive back at the ferry terminal and take a bus (along with fish who are loaded onto a truck) back to the airport where we catch a 3pm flight back to Seattle where we spend the night and then fly home the next day (Sunday). So, if you take the 7 day trip you have no problem getting a flight back to Seattle. I would highly recommend going to Juneau one day early to protect your trip in case of bad weather of a flight cancellation. Hope this helps
