Pretty gem of a hotel in Atascadero. Sadly, the housekeeping staff needs to be retrained or fired! Our room appeared clean and organized. However, the bed sheets and pillow cases were dirty and super wrinkled! We advised the front desk. They sent housekeeping to redo the beds. Unfortunately, the housekeeping staff ONLY changed the TOP SHEET! When we pulled back...

We stayed recently, on a wine tasting weekend. Previously, we had stayed in Paso. This is a short, 10-minute drive south. We didn't realize how convenient it would be. Staff was very pleasant on check in/out. (We appreciated the "leftover" pastries, from the cafe, next door, in the afternoon at the front desk.) Hotel was very quiet and well maintained....

Hello there! We are so glad you discovered our hotel and little town for your wine tasting weekend. We hope you can come back again- one of the best ways to taste the county is to spend one day in Paso Robles and one day in Edna Valley. We are right in the middle of these two major wine regions...

The rooms are super roomy and the beds were amazingly comfortable. The bathroom is very elegant with separate shower, jetted tub, and beautiful marble and gold accents everywhere. It also had a small mini bar. i appreciated the make up mirror in the bathroom and the full-length mirror in the room when i was getting ready. The restaurant was closed...

We love out-of-the-way little towns that are not on the usual tourist maps. So, we decided to stop in Atascadero on our way to Hearst Castle. It's always fun to stay at the oldest hotel in town, hoping to experience a little of its history, so we chose the Carlton. As with many of these hotels, we expected it to...

We had a gorgeous deluxe room on the third floor, but peeks into other rooms showed all of them to be of the same high quality of decor and design. Ours was huge. Windows completely blocked out the highway noise and offered surrounding views of the hills. The city of Atascadero has numerous small town charms, a small but unique...

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at the Carlton Hotel. We love hearing about positive guest experiences. Being situated where we are is an asset that a lot of people don't realize. We are close to the beach, over 200 wineries and just a short drive to San Luis Obispo. Thanks again for staying with us!!

We stayed just one night as a pit stop on a road trip. For the same price as some impersonal chain motels, we got a huge room with a very large bathroom with soaker tub and separate large shower in a beautifully maintained 1920‘s grande dame of a hotel. The bed and linens were a welcome luxury after a long...

This a grand hotel with a beautiful lobby and rooms. Our room was large. It had a spacious bathroom with a jetted tub and a separate glass shower. The tile work in there was gorgeous. This bathroom stood head-to-head with those we've had in 5-Star hotels in major cities around the world. The bed was good and the decor was...

Hello there, Well, we are glad you enjoyed the hotel and staff and are sorry you were upset about the charge for the water bottle. The coffee and teas in the rooms are complimentary, however the FIJI waters are not. As for the pricing, we are sorry you felt that we are overpriced - we aim to be competitive for...

This is a nice central location for wine tasting in the Paso area. It is a more reasonable price than the choices in Paso. it reminds me of a hotel I stayed at in Paris, but with bigger rooms. The rooms are nice, with coffee makers, refrigerators, wine glasses and a corkscrew. The price is very reasonable mid week. The...
