The mansion is 133 years old. It has a lot of the 'old world charm'--original woodwork, lighting fixtures etc. Each room in the mansion has a theme and it's own bathroom--we stayed in the Anniversary Suite. The room was clean, the owner very friendly, the breakfasts were abundant and delicious. It is within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Very...

When we arrived our greeter was a homeless woman sitting in the yard. We finally found the entrance, walked into a dark, empty reception area. We found the housekeeper who told us the manager wasn't in but she could give us our key. She came back and told us the power was out and asked if we could return later....

The owner, Alfred, made this overnight stay one in a million for us. The entrance was a little confusing to find but that added a sense of mystery. Alfred greeted us and made sure we felt welcome. We spent time on the first floor admiring the decor. Beautiful antiques adorned the rooms feeling as if we were in the 1890's....

I just photographed a wedding at this adorable little inn today and loved every minute of it! Each room was different and offered a great variety of looks. The house itself has so much charm and history. There were beautiful spots for photos everywhere you turned. If you're looking for your wedding venue, look no further!

If you're into California Gold Rush History and like the feeling of stepping back into the horse a buggy days then this mansion is for you. Our room was nicely decorated with turn-of-the-century furniture and everything worked and everything was clean. Beds very comfortable and the surroundings were quiet and parking close by. After dinner, and the near-by "tre Pazzi...

This was one of the best trips I had ever had. The rooms were clean and cute with each little theme. There was plenty of parking and the staff was very friendly. The best part of the visit though was the owner/innkeeper Alfred. We ended up staying there for several hours past the time we thought we were going to...

This is a really funky old bed and breakfast. Some might even say "Shabby Chic". It's a wonderful old Victorian mansion, with a kind and helpful staff. The breakfast is outstanding. Crustless quiche, fruit, fried potatoes, blueberry scone. All of them yummy. However, and this would definitely be a stumbling block for some travelers, it is not served until 9...

We had a group of 12 stay there this weekend for a wine tasting trip. We were greeted by a super friendly staff. The rooms were unique. We all had fun looking at each other's rooms. The beds were comfortable. The showers hot. In the morning we were treated to amazing breakfasts. At night we enjoyed the parlor and dining...

I loved our stay at Powers Mansion in Auburn. Alfred and Terry were great and attentive to our needs. The food was great the atmosphere was great. We stayed in the Power Master bedroom and only negative was the lights on the fan did not work. However when we turned the lamps on the room looked better with the beautiful...

Beautiful parlours, lovely grounds, warm fireplaces, funky rooms with good beds and heat, delicious breakfasts, served by the special surprise: Alfred Lee. He opened up a whole world of history and adventure for us when we asked him about the mansion. We departed with a warm appreciation for him and his home.
