This is a charming, older property. No A/C, not that you really need it with Catalina's beautiful breezes. No early check-in, but they did let you leave your luggage in the lobby in the meantime. Room was basic and clean. Bed was comfortable. The outdoor porches were very pleasant. A jacuzzi was a nice touch! Breakfast was drinkable coffee, (fake)...

My wife and I decided to go to Catalina for our 15 year wedding anniversary and settled on the Hotel Catalina for accommodations. I called the hotel, booked the Premium King room. I also requested the hotel to send their shuttle to pick us up at the dock and they charged us an additional $10 each way. Upon our arrival,...

Hotel Catalina 129 Whittley Avenue, Avalon, Catalina Island, CA (Posted 20160501) Wonderful hotel built in 1893. Built on a residential street, off the ‘beaten path’ and the noise of the beachfront downtown area. A short walk up a slightly steep hill, far enough away from the main hub of town for quiet, yet close enough that you’ll be in your...

Not a ton of amenities, but location was great. Staff was friendly. Free coffee at desk in morning. Bed was comfy. Quiet at night. Room was tight, but you shouldn't be in the room too much. Tv reception to watch bachelorette was great. Don't forget to use the 10% off locals restaurants

We had one of the one bedroom suites in the annex. Well appointed, updated bathroom and Jacuzzi tub. Outside was a beautiful patio with fire pit. They had breakfast including cereals, coffee and sweets. Location was perfect centrally located and an easy walk to everywhere, Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend it highly.

My girlfriend and I spent 4 days on Catalina island in Avalon based at the Hotel Catalina. I was impressed with the help I got from Nancy from the time I made the reservation until we departed. She was accommodating, had a nice smile and made us feel welcomed as did the other staff. The room was on the small...

We got a good rate for an overnight stay....much cheaper than other hotels in the area, like $100 cheaper. Our room was clean but small with nice detail and lovely historic feel throughout the hotel. Almost feels like a bed and breakfast with the gorgeous decks out front. They have coffee and tea through the day and offer donuts for...

Hotel is in the center of everything. About a 2-3 minute walk to get to downtown area. Room was really tiny but it was worth it. Since the island is so great we only slept in the room and spent most of our time walking around.
