We stayed one night at the St. Lauren. The room was comfortable and clean. The roof top deck is a plus. We had evening snacks on the roof top deck and enjoyed the view. Coffee in the morning was very good. Because this hotel is at the top of a steep hill it could be a problem for some but...

My husband and I typically will only stay at 3 star hotels, so we expected a certain standard. We decided to try the St. Lauren as it was a reasonable price, 3 star, and good location. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location and historic appearance of the exterior did not disappoint. However, when we walked in our room,...

The hotel was very clean and well kept. The hotel staff was extremely friendly, and helpful. The furnishings were outdated but were still functional. I liked that they offered a room with a king bed and pull out futon bed; the room would technically sleep 4 which is great when sharing a room with scuba buddies. It was very centrally...

Cons: This place has some of the smallest bedrooms we have ever seen. The rooms were dingy, and didn't feel clean. Super outdated and no amenities to speak of. Sorry, they have coffee in the am. Anyways there are much better hotels on the island. I suggest checking them out Pros: location is central (like everything there, Avalon is tiny)...

Very charming and nicely decorated hotel. Clean and quiet....within walking distance of everything. Nice deck to overlook Avalon and the ocean. The church across the street was decorated with beautiful lights for Christmas.

I stayed in a front room with a bay window and view of the ocean. It was a fantastic room for one person, clean, nice bathtub. Not many amenities with the room, however - no refrigerator, for example.

Upon arrival, the staff were extremely friendly and so helpful to check me in and answer my questions about getting around the Avalon. The room was fresh and clean and there were beautiful views of Avalon outside our window. The staff greeted us and gave us a warm goodbye upon checking out. Thank you for keeping this hotel so pristine!

We stayed one (Sunday) night with a couple of friends. We had adjacent rooms on the fifth floor with a shared balcony and sea views and we couldn't have been more satisfied. The hotel's position uphill from the beach results in great views, especially from the roof terrace on the sixth floor. The hotel itself is charming with a slightly...

An older hotel situated on a small hill a couple of blocks back from the waterfront, we stayed for one night (Thursday) and enjoyed ourselves. We opted for a room with a balcony - recommended because the rooms are not large and we like to chill before heading out for the evening. The room had all you could ask for...
