After lots of research, we reserved at the Mountain Chalet. We were a bit hesitant because the price seemed too good to be true. Guess what- it's TRUE! Nice room, with balcony overlooking the pool, and up to the slopes just a block away. Helpful staff. Great location, walking to all the mall area restaurants, short drive to the river,...

Hotel was nice enough for the price. What I was not expecting was how utterly strict they were. We had three people in a bedroom with a queen sized bed. Not outrageous, right? WRONG. We made almost no noise, and I guess since they found out that someone additional was staying in the room, thought it ok to charge me...

Sorry for the problem you have had. We do charge an additional person fee of $15 per person over 2 people. We also do an approval for $100 at check-in for incidentals. I imagine what you are seeing is an approval for the two of these items. We would be happy to resolve the problem for you if you call...

I was a little concerned when we first approached the Mountain Chalet. It certainly didn't fit the decor of Aspen. Once we walked in and were greeted by the staff, my feeling changed. Everyone was like family, they took their time explaining the Hotel, Pool, Hot Tub, a wonderful Fitness Room, Sauna & Steam Room. They even have a billiard...

I've had the good fortune to have lived, worked and now stay & ski in Aspen over the last 30 years. I somehow missed this jewel for so many and just discovered it over the last 2 years. The staff, their smiles and good will make the hotel so enjoyable...and yes it's a relic in time that stands out, if...

Thank you for your kind review. We hope to keep running the Mountain Chalet as an old-time ski lodge well into the future. Maybe another 60 years. --Craig

We were a group of 36 and had a wonderful time staying at this hotel. Visited this hotel during the busy weekend of fall colors and it has provided everything we needed. Not even once any of us had any issue. The place was located in the center of aspen and minutes walk to restaurants and shopping. Hot breakfast everyday...

The place was located in the center of aspen..minutes walk to restaurants and stores.place is bit outdated..we opted for a basic room as we are gona stay just for a night, booked it through Expedia..the surprising thing is the room doesn't have an AC..it was no where mentioned in Expedia that it's not air conditioned..next time when you choose beware of...

Thank you for your straight-forward review. We do have economy rooms that are not air-conditioned and other rooms that are air-conditioned. We make this very clear on our website, but it can be difficult to make sure 3rd party sites correctly describe us. Parking is difficult in Aspen, and as a 60 year old hotel we actually feel fortunate that...

The hotel was very cozy and intimate, and the manager was helpful, pleasant and friendly. I can say that the lady at the front desk could have been more knowledgeable about attractions in the area, as she seemed completely baffled by our questions about accessing the Maroon Bells. However, the room was clean and cozy and the breakfast was excellent!

Thanks for your feedback. Sorry we failed to provide good information to you about the Maroon Bells, one of Aspen's main attractions. We will certainly discuss and make sure we do better in the future. --Craig

The hotel is pretty old but the rooms have been recently renovated and everything looks neat and tidy. The rooms are slightly smaller but cozy and nice. The fluffy clean towels and heated bathroom floor added an extra touch to the amenities. Overall decent rooms at good prices. The hot made to order breakfast plus the usual continental stuff makes it...

If you are looking for a decent hotel in the heart of Aspen, this is perfect. The hotel has kind of a European 1970s vibe and could stand to be updated. Some of the rooms open out to the street and some are more of a traditional hotel hallway style. The A/C in our room was not great and we...

Loved staying here! Though it doesn't have all the most up-to-date amenities, it really made you feel like you were at a bed and breakfast even though it was a hotel. The breakfasts are held at large tables where you get to meet other guests and the staff is really friendly. It turns out a lot of the people go...
