Nothing spectacular about the hotel. Was clean and quiet though so no complaints, just nothing that exceeded expectations. Breakfast had minimal options. Area around the hotel offered a few dining options but nothing that was anything to write home about either.
We spent a night here in early May. The hotel is charming and immaculate, with friendly New England service. The lobby is beautiful for such a moderately priced hotel. Coffee and treats are available near the front desk, and there is a generous room service...More
Dated decor though it seems to be the look in the area. All the rooms offer four poster beds that are too large for the low ceilings rooms and make the space feel cramped. When sitting in bed watching tv there is the inevitable post...More
I stayed at the Avon Old Farms Hotel from May 5 - 8, while traveling with a tour group. We all enjoyed the hotel! The rooms were lovely and the food we ate in Seasons Restaurant was delicious! We also enjoyed a Kentucky Derby party...More
We stayed here recently for a special occasion for a friend and it was a really pleasant experience. We stayed in the property toward the back - and it was charming. My one complaint would be the bathtub/shower - the shower curtain wasn't long enough...More

I am getting scared after reading the reviews. My husband and I are staying in July for our 18th Anniversary. My husband wanted to stay at a "well known hotel " but I said this one look nice. I hope I don't end up putting my foot in my mouth.Clean is very important to us as I am sure of many others. We are staying 2 nights will there be a problem? Let me know ahead of time I do not want to have a fight over my pick.
Thank you Lisa Mathews

It was clean. Just a little loud for my tastes...:) I preferred the simsbury 1820 house - this place is nice too - just not as old inn as I like - in a busy section of that area -
