My husband and I just returned from a 7 night stay at Mangata Villas. It is exactly what we needed! The location in the north was remote enough to be out of the hustle and bustle but near enough to a few restaurants etc that we had options. Their on-site beach bar/pizzeria is perfect and run by Rody, who knows how to take care of you. I loved having a kitchen in our villa for some snacks and an easy breakfast, but the Moon Bar was perfect for ordering whichever drink I was in the mood for and the pizzas were excellent. The staff keeps the beach and the grounds very clean. Mangata's owners and staff have found the perfect balance of friendly and available but not intrusive. Their recommendations for golf cart rental (it's a thing on the island) and excursions were spot on. Justin and Jennifer, the owners, have a great vision for Mangata that seems to maintain the important things but bring in some great additions. We cannot wait to go back.…

Such a beautiful resort!! Our experience was fantastic. The bed was comfortable, A/C worked great, the rooms were clean and well appointed, and the staff was helpful and friendly. From the white sand to the comfy outdoor loungers to the pool and music, it was a little outdoor paradise. And Moonbar is a great place to eat amazing pizza and delicious drinks (they even do gluten free pizza!) Played corn hole and sat around the gas fire pit at night while sipping a delicious frozen coconut mojito, and also enjoyed a golf cart drive-in movie night with popcorn. Highly recommend this adult only boutique hotel!! Thank you Mangata Villas for a fabulous girls trip.

We loved our stay this week at Mangata! Hats off to Trina, Laura. Jermain, Elvin and Rody for their excellent service and hospitality. Thank you Jennifer from afar! We loved our modern, beach front villa with a view that never grows old! Yoga on the dock, in-room massage, great pizza at Moon Bar. Very laid back and friendly. Be sure to try the great restaurants and eateries up north, like Portofino, Mambo, Camida Rey, Sun Deck, Tipsy Lobster, Rain and Aqua. Grab some dessert to go from Sol Cafe. Go snorkeling with a guide from one of the many shops offering tours. We booked two through the shop on the Portofino dock and were pleased with both. Guides Chocolate and Edwin really know their stuff. Get away from busy San Pedro and the large, crowded resorts and stay at Mangata!

This is going to be long because I can't say enough positive things about this place! First Serena & Aaron are absolutely wonderful hosts and so incredibly helpful. Leading up to our arrival they were in regular contact with us providing recommendations, information, & answering every question we had (even stupid ones lol). They let us know exactly what to expect upon arriving at the airport & had a staff member meet us at the ferry terminal with our golf cart (we chose to arrive by ferry instead of plane). The staff member made sure we were behind him & he didn't lose us getting out of the city. Upon arrival both owners were waiting at our Casita to help us with bags & give us the run-down. There were welcome drinks at the moon bar which were probably the best on the island (thank you Rody!) The owners are very approachable & available, but hands-off if you don't need them they don't bug ya. The amenities were perfect - kitchen has a toaster, two coffee makers (pod & drip), microwave, stovetop, and full fridge & freezer. Dishes, utensils, cookware, etc for meals in. Word of advice: Ants are around outside - put your food away in the fridge - everything- if you don't want to share! Anything we needed we just emailed Serena & she took care of it. We even had an issue paying for a tour she helped us book (no thanks to paypal & being abroad). The location is about 6-7 miles north of San Pedro on the east side. There was sargassum, but it wasn't bad & didn't smell like we'd read about. There were kayaks and SUP boards and life jackets to use. There's a full bar on site with the best bar tenders on the island (I heard the pizza is good to 😉) The staff even cut up some fruit we'd bought in town and gave us a few lime wedges to help preserve it. They seriously are the greatest ❤️ 🙌 The staff on-site were always friendly & smiling. They had a movie night on Friday night that was super fun too! Great pizza! Enjoyed sitting at the Moon Bar on the beach while waiting for pizza. This is an adults only resort. I was staying with my family at Portofino so I walked over twice in a week for different pizzas. Bar service was great and so was the pizza!

BACK AGAIN AND STILL THE BEST!!1 In February, 2022 my wife and I left Mangata three days early from our intended stay because of an issue at home. Serena and Aaron let us know that they would honor a credit for those days if we decided to return. Late last year we contacted them to see if there was any room available during February, 2023 and were told that they did have one room left and that they would honor the credit for that time. One can only wish that all travel experiences are as delightful as this. The rooms are very comfortable and very clean. Serena and Aaron go out of their respective ways to do everything possible to insure that their clients (guests) are taken care properly. Movie night on Friday is a hoot! We have been to Belize numerous times and nothing can get close to the really great time at Mangata. If a room is available here do not hesitate to book this place. It is not often that you can find a place like this or people like the hosts. ENJOY!!!!!…

Unbelievable! Mangata Villas was fantastic! Staff from Mangata met us at the airport and escorted us back to the resort. We arrived to our private Casita, only to be welcomed and greeted by the owners Serena and Aaron. Pizza and tropical drink’s right outside your door!! The Moon Bar exceeded all our expectations. The entire staff including the owners made our experience in Belize a 20 out 10. Can’t wait to go back!!!!

The owners met us at the ferry dock to help guide us back which was helpful as the town is a bit chaotic with carts everywhere. They pointed out god places to eat and shop as we drove back. It's a bit of a drive back but worth it for the lovely, peaceful setting. We had one of the detached villas and it was cute and comfortable and clean. Everything we needed including a little kitchenette. The pool is nice. The bar and pizza are great. When are cart gave us trouble Aaron was able to fix it up. We had a fun movie night with donation proceeds to benefit local animal charities. Several places to eat and drink are nearby.

Book it right now! My Wife and I spent our Honeymoon here. It's a gorgeous place. The accommodations are very upscale if you're used to modern comforts, but the experience outside is tropical and beautiful. The on-site bar and pizza place is super enjoyable the the folks who work there (Hi Rody & Erlin!) were top notch, and were awesome to talk to and joke with in the evenings. Booking through Mangata could not have been easier. They reached out to help us secure a Golf Cart (Which you absolutely MUST have if you intend to travel San Pedro) and they met us at the airport and gave us a quick tour of the area. They have a great Google Maps share with a ton of their favorite locations to eat pointed out. In the evenings we drank, hung out at the private pool, and played cornhole while watching the sunset. We saw couples getting massages, playing in the canoes, or just lounging at the beach. Mangata actually helped connect us with a guide and an excursion into the mainland that we also loved! We would have never gotten connected to our guides without them. Can't say enough about the experience. It's a bit out of the way from downtown San Pedro, but we managed to go downtown everyday we were there and we got used to the golf cart travel after a day or two. Just go ahead and book it! …
