I can't say enough good things about this resort. It was top notch from the start. I could tell even before arriving they were on top of everything and organized. They were very good at getting back to me with all my questions and arranged our flights and taxi to the hotel. I even found their rates for these very similar without a major up charge but significant added convenience. When I changed my dates of travel even though we had booked a higher rate, they actually lowered to rate for us to the current rate (in my experience) this is rare. The entire arrival was seamless we fly 12 mins to the island had a hotel taxi waiting and even got checked in early to our room. The rooms are huge with great A/C and nice amenities. The housekeeping every day was top notch and they even did our laundry every day! All the pools were a very good temperature and the staff was excellent overall. My family of 4 including a 6 and 8 year old had a blast. They even had a gym which was pretty good and very hard to find on San Pedro for hotels. Another added perk is they have their own golf cart fleet which is a must if you stay at this hotel. The prices were very reasonable and if you rent beyond 3 days is quite economical. I would highly recommend getting a golf cart for the whole trip as you can do so much more exploring of the island. One of the highlights is my kids enjoyed driving every day in the golf cart. Another plus and reason I choose this resort is you can take the free kayaks out to the reef (20 min paddle) and they have bouys you can tie onto and snorkel. The snorkeling at the reef was excellent and free! I would still recommend a tour for some of the major spots but you can DIY most of the time. Overall I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who wants nice big rooms, snorkeling, great beach, gym and pools and a little break from the hustle and bustle of downtown san pedro (again only 10 min golf cart ride into town if you want.)

My 9-year old daughter and I just returned from 5 days at Grand Caribe and we had a wonderful experience. The resort is very well cared for and clean. We had an ocean front one bedroom condo with an amazing view (Unit A8).
Housekeeping was fantastic and they even will do your personal laundry for you each day!
We ate lunch at the pool bar and it was very good and not crazy overpriced.
The pool was fantastic and they also had kayaks and paddle boarding.
We booked snorkeling tours through the resort and they were also excellent. They use a local dive shop and it may be less expensive to book directly but we did it through the resort for convenience.
We also rented a golf cart direct from the resort for simplicity. It seemed comparable in cost to other vendors.
We will definitely be back!

We stayed for two weeks in g6 On first impressions it is fabulous but as the week went on some things came to light! The on site shop is terrible no fresh produce no fruit or vegetables not always bread. No yogurts deserts or cakes. But there pizza was excellent. The on site restaurant is expensive food Is good but very quick service to the point that we hadn’t finished our starters when our mains arrived - very embarrassing for the staff as there was obviously no room to put the food so they pushed our plates along to make room we wouldn’t believe what we saw ! We did not return. They advised entertainment well there was a guitarist for one hour in the restaurant. Never saw any more any ware on site in two weeks The pools are fab and there’s a lane swimming pool which we enjoyed every morning Load music daily from 10,00 to 7. The beach is also advertised as swimming but although they clean the sea weed daily it was very shallow and unattractive. Our g6 condo had issues! Every kitchen gadget you could need but no instructions also if you put the toaster cafe machine kettle on at once you blow a fuse! They do your washing for you which was a added bonus and it’s returned the same day We had 3 tv but couldn’t get a station on any needed a pin or to download an app! Our beds look fab but incredibly noisy needed tightening up apparently - couldn’t help but notice how worn the sheets and unmatched pillowcases were. Fab bathrooms but towels to small. Also the main bedroom I could not get any of the windows to stay up! They fell down with a bang very dangerous we thought if there were children there. We loved the balcony and spent most of our time in the mornings and late evenings there watching the sun rise etc. The maid service was excellent We noticed quite a few dogs always on leads but allowed to foul anywhere! Most owners cleaned it up. But we was surprised they were allowed to toilet around the picnic tables etc then minutes later very young children were crawling on the very same spots! Disgusting. Water spots and guards were very pleasant and helpful so were the bar staff. Lots of people happy to break the pool rules and play there own load music bring there own bottles of booze and food to the poolside staff didn’t do anything about it! Quit annoying when they got load! We would not return.

We rented a penthouse suite and it’s was huge with all the amenities. Unfortunately there was only 1 safe for 4 bedrooms (4 couples) so they brought us another one but it wasn’t secured to anything. We ended up getting locked inside the unit through the main door and maintenance had to come and fix the lock. We had some other minor issues as well with the laundry and communication but everything was always handled quickly, professionally and appropriately. They even left us a bottle of wine after one of the incidents. The front desk staff was amazing! Every email I sent was also handled quickly and professionally.
The negative side was the unit was dated and needed some upgrades and the pool was cold. Also the drinks at the pool were very expensive in comparison to our other trips we’ve taken. No real appetizers just meal items and we would have liked to snack on things at the pool (guacamole, salsa, wings, etc)
We would still highly recommend Grand Caribe. It’s in a great location and the property was beautiful and clean. It worked well for our large group and we all had a good time!
We rented our golf carts privately but they are available through the resort at a slightly higher price. They arranged to transport all of our luggage (approximately 8-10 large pieces) to the airport on our last day and it only cost about $22. We needed assistance with the luggage due to us having to return the golf carts that day as well.

Our room was facing the road and carts and trucks start very early in the morning making sleeping past 6am impossible. The curtains are not blackout curtains and we had a 1+ year old with us who was awake at dawn because of it. The unit we stayed in was pretty well equipped but the appliances are old and outdated. The restaurant onsite is mediocre and quite pricey. The pool bar staff was not very attentive and food options are limited and by the time you get your food if you ordered hot, it does not arrive that way but the waiter does not come back to check on you so you are out of luck. Housekeeping was excellent and front desk staff was very accommodating but looking forward to the next leg of our journey to get some sleep. Very surprised at the 5 star rating but until more resorts are built up north here in the caye - it's probably the best you can get. It is not really convenient to much. You do have to travel for restaurants and beaches except for Aji and the Truck stop ( both excellent ). I will say, the view of the ocean is stunning but the beach is not really swimming friendly. The pool could also use some updating. All things considered, it is a decent place to stay but will try the more southern end of the Island next time.

Loved it! We rented a two bed / two bath condo on the first floor that enabled us just to walk a few steps down to the pool area. On-site bar, restaurant, grocery / convenience store, spa, and urgent clinic if needed - everything so convenient and staff super nice. We booked our excursions and rented the golf cart directly from the concierge as well as shuttle to / from airstrip and flights to mainland. They made it so easy. We could have just stayed at the resort, but its location into town or farther North / West to Secret Beach was perfect. We will be back.

Grand Caribe brings a vacation experience to a new level!! There are no gimmicks or games with what you paid for, booked an oceanfront room and as a family received the ocean front room. 10 steps and I was on the BEACH! The concierge service are always reaching out before you get there from Kenya to Amy and they let you truly enjoy their beautiful island. They really make everyone of your wishes attainable. The rooms for our teenage boys and us a couple was spacious and very very comfortable!!! They were constantly accommodating every one of their wishes, the breakfasts and the manatee excursions “were sick” to quote teenage boys. I loved my comfortable bed with my own personal bathroom and window and patio overlooking the sea. Felt safe at all times because there were people who actually looked out for you, and were genuine in taking care of our family. Thank you Jenna for greeting us and the entire staff. The Grand Caribe Resort was amazing!! We chose a 1 Bedroom Condo with an Oceanfront Balcony and we were extremely happy with the condo! It was just as advertised, GORGEOUS - large rooms, beautiful kitchen, large bathroom, incredibly views from the large balcony which you could access from the bedroom or living room. The Staff were EXTREMELY friendly!! The resort made our arrangement for the Air Transport from the mainland through Tropic Air and the resort provided transportation to and from the San Pedro airport and the resort. Housekeeping was great!! Our friends used the laundry service provided by housekeeping and were very satisfied. We booked tours booked through the concierge and each tour was wonderful. We did several half day snorkeling tours and reef fishing and loved it all. The resort has 7 pools, we used the main pool with the swim up bar everyday! The resort has 2 restaurants, Rain and Aqua, and both were some of the best food we had on the island! We rented a golf cart to go to a few other off-site restaurants within a few miles of the resort. The Beach Basket grocery had limited items but we bought items several times during our stay. We would highly recommend this resort and hope to be back soon!!!!

Grand Caribe, is a great resort, the staff is excellent, and the amenities are top notch! My husband and I travel multiple times a year and look forward to staying a nice resort for a week. One perk that we found invaluable was the free laundry service! the cleaning staff will wash your clothes if you leave them in the basket!
We were here for a week, and the hotel took care of everything that we needed, we did an excursion to the pyramids, and it was very easy to book through them, and organize our excursion. we booked our flights to and from the mainland with them as well, and they did all of our dinner reservations on nights that we wanted a nice dinner. You do not need to use the concierge, as I am sure that there are cheaper options in town, but they are top notch service and really did a fantastic job.
The location for Grand Caribe really cannot be beat, while we were here we drove the length of the island, and saw where the other high end resorts are (mahogany etc) and they are on the complete opposite side of the island. GC is close to secret beach, and still close enough to town, that it is only about 5 -10 Min to go to a dinner or a breakfast in town if you want.
The rooms are generous in size we had a 1 bedroom beach walk out, and it was by far bigger than the pictures online, the patio was huge.
TLDR : stay at GC, this side of the island is closer to the secret beach and down town. great restaurants in walking distance. Staff is amazing, you will love it.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of sea grass in front of this hotel property that kept the guest out of the ocean directly in front of the resort. There are pools and the snorkel adventures take you to clearer waters, but when we went in Oct'23, you'd have to go out a fair piece to avoid all the vegetation.

The resort is like a collection of timeshares so it’s not an all-inclusive type of resort. Use of the pools is complimentary with your stay but all other activities can be booked and paid for through the front office/concierge.
There are more places to choose from in the San Pedro area.
