We just got home from a week stay at El Pescador Resort. We can't say enough about this wonderful place. My husband enjoyed 3 days work of fly fishing and my daughter 1, both were successful in catching bonefish! I enjoyed walking the beaches, laying by the pool and going into town. The service was excellent, the food was delicious...

My wife and I recently came back from El Pescador, and had an absolute amazing time there. The owners, the staff, the food, the bar and the amazing service. They say you come as a guest and you leave as family. That is a true statement! Anything you want to do while you are there they will make all the...

We found El Pescador as a result of wanting to go to Belize and looking at resorts on Trip Advisor that met some basic criteria. We took a harder look at their website and concluded that while the emphasis was clearly on fly-fishing, there also seemed to be plenty of other things to do. We were right on both counts,...

We stayed with friends in a 3 bedroom villa located on the beach. It worked out beautifully. The staff was very accomodating. We took advantage of the all inclusive package and enjoyed the daily meals, appetizers, and libations. The location is ideal for many activities. We took advantage of the professional fly fishing guide services and enjoyed our days searching...

El Pescador Lodge is a great place for couples and for your first saltwater trip. There is an on site coach and fishing manager "Isa" to help you master casting and to provide feed back of your current skill set. HIs role is to coach as well as too help match a guide for your fishing package. This was our...

Two college buddies & their fanatic fishing husbands choose this Orvis recommended Resort to escape the winter doldrums for a tropical splurge vacation. We were not disappointed! Perfect weather, bonefish galore, rum drinks under palm trees, Mayan pyramids, resort staff that catered but didn't intrude; all the things we were looking for. We were "on the plan", meaning meals, beer...

This was our second year in a row hosting a trip from our fly shop in Montana. We bring 10 of our guests a year on a week long fishing trip and could not be happier that we went back to El Pescador. Yes the lodging, food, fishing, weather was great but it was the people you meet that make...

This was our second trip to El Pescador. We spent 6 fun filled days fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, eating, and lounging. The El Pescador staff was very friendly and accommodating and really make an effort to get to know us and call us by name. The newly remodeled rooms are BIG and done very well. When we arrived, my wife...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
El Pescador’s beachfront lodge and villas are situated on over 45 private acres with ambiance, specializing in fishing, diving and eco-adventures. We are family-owned and operated with emphasis on creating camaraderie and an authentic Belizean experience. El Pescador is proud of our philosophy to protect and nurture friendship, adventure and the environment. El Pescador has long been known as a world-class fishing destination offering outstanding flats fishing for bonefish, tarpon and permit. El Pescador has been the only resort on Ambergris Caye specializing in saltwater flats fishing since 1974. Since coming under new ownership in 1997, the resort has established itself as an eco-friendly tropical getaway, including a commitment to offset all carbon emissions generated by its guests flying to Belize. Donations are made on behalf of guests to a local Belizean non-profit organization, Green Reef Environmental Educational and Coastal Research Institute, to offset the carbon emissions used to travel to Belize. El Pescador was also among the key organizations to implement the new Law protecting bonefish, tarpon and permit as catch and release species. This is the most all encompassing legislation of its kind worldwide. It is great news for Belizeans, anglers, tourists and conservationists alike. El Pescador is a serene and gracious establishment on the doorstep of the world’s largest living Barrier Reef. El Pescador offers accommodations in guest rooms within its colonial style, mahogany main lodge, as well as in 1, 2, and 3 bedroom luxury beachfront villas. The villas are perfect accommodations for couples seeking romance and privacy, and for families and small groups traveling together. All rooms and villas are beachfront and have unobstructed views of the Caribbean blue waters. In addition to unequaled fishing, this first-rate resort offers all the eco-adventures which take full advantage of Belize’s exotic flora and fauna. Scuba diving, snorkeling, manatee watching, cave-tubing and zip-lining, and Maya archaeological explorations are just a small assortment of the activities available while staying at El Pescador. ... more   less
