Stayed in San Pedro for 5 days to get our scuba certification at the Scuba School and Family Dive Center, which is about a 20 second walk from the hotel (it's right there!). The hotel itself is also surrounded by fantastic restaurants (check out the French Touch for a fancy couple's meal, Estel's for breakfast/brunch, or go to the town square for great shrimp/lobster tacos) a few coffee shops and importantly, a golf cart rental place (J & H golf cart rental provides them for $35 US for a half day). The rooms were kept clean (housecleaning was prompt and efficient), the AC and hot water works perfectly, and the staff was responsive when we needed them (which was hardly ever). Only complaint was that the bar/restaurant is super loud and will play party music until 10 (or midnight on weekends) which is inescapable from the rooms, so we had to sleep with earplugs (but were always so exhausted from the day that we passed out anyway).

Holiday Hotel offers a prime location in the heart of the city, making it a convenient choice for exploring nearby attractions. However, cleanliness is a concern, during a week we only had someone cleaning the room one time upon request.
Additionally, the hotel's proximity to a noisy restaurant may disrupt your peace and quiet. Friendly staff and decent amenities partially compensate for these drawbacks.

My mom stayed at the Holiday Hotel, 50 years ago. We had a particularly rough year, so I wanted to do something to celebrate her birthday. What better way to celebrate than re-live the vacation I grew up hearing about.

I now know why mom talked about it so much, because our stay with Holiday Hotel was incredible. The whotel is perfectly located in the heart of San Pedro and extremely close to the airport. It’s right on the beach with breathtaking views. Our room was very clean, hot water was plentiful, and we were treated like family from the second we arrived. We already miss Filipe and Ray!

Another plus was that the Scuba School and Family Dive Center is right at the hotel, so this made my love of diving easy without taking too much time away from mom!

You won’t regret staying here. We cannot wait to return!

Based on the pictures, this hotel should be a place to relax and rejuvenate. However, my reality was very different because what the images don't show is the constant noise from the bar area. Club-type music emits from speakers from around 11:00 am until they are forced to close due to the Covid curfew. I hear the noise in my room (making it impossible to sleep until they close and difficult to relax during the day), and any time that I am on the beach. You can not get away from the noise. If you are here to party, then you might enjoy the club-type of feel they are creating. However, if you are here to rest, relax, and rejuvenate then I suggest that you find another hotel.

In fairness to the hotel, I do want to add that when I approached the bar manager about the noise he was very friendly and assured me that they would be shutting it down in time for curfew, which they did. The volume was also lower during the day for the next two days. Today it was louder again, but not nearly as loud as the first day. I think this problem is just a difference in what I need from a hotel and the atmosphere that this hotel is trying to create.

The hotel itself is clean and I've appreciated that they clean the room daily and give you a large jug of water in the refrigerator. However, there is quite a bit of delayed maintenance on the property. Light fixtures are falling off the walls, a railing on the second floor is loose, etc. Also, the room that I am staying in does not have the colorful artwork on the walls or other decorative touches that I see in the pictures. My room is very basic and dated. There is nothing that makes me want to spend time in the room because between the tacky decor and constant noise, it is not a very comfortable space to be in.

We stayed in March 2023 and this was the perfect place for us to be right on the beach at a great price. It’s not fancy but it’s clean, they supply soap but no shampoo/conditioner. They A/C works great and there’s a mini fridge which is perfect for buying drinks/food and storing them. They provide washcloths and towels and beach towels too. We stayed in the casita which is a small building by itself, two single beds, one double bed and a pull out couch, it was plenty big! Other reviewers complained of the loud music from the restaurant but it didn’t bother us and didn’t keep us from sleeping at night, we were there over a Friday and Saturday too. It’s close enough to walk from the airport and walk to lots of restaurants and convenience stores. we even walked to the opposite side of the island to the sound side. We never even needed to rent a golf cart, but if you did there are lots of nearby places. If you plan to dive it’s just steps away from Scuba School which is a fantastic dive company!! Overall we loved it and would definitely stay again!

This hotel is okay. Rooms are decent and location is convenient. The Travelocity information indicates there is self service laundry, but there isn’t. There is also no room service. No complimentary coffee in the restaurant and the bartender made it clear to us the restaurant is separate from the hotel.

The hotel is perfectly located, walking distance to everything. It has a beautiful beach and an excellent dive shop and beach spa right next door. The rooms are clean and spacious, but modest. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The in-house restaurant does not serve breakfast and does not draw people for lunch and dinner, but you can get drinks anytime. There are many good restaurants nearby, so no worries there. The place could do with a bit of a facelift.

Upon arriving, we were greeted promptly. I was disappointed that our group could not be together on the same floor. But alas, we didn't request upon booking. Rookie mistake!!!! The room was spacious and comfortable, even the bed. They have a restaurant on site and a bar area. These areas were open concepts. There was always a breeze blowing thru the open lobby and into the restaurant. Really, there is no need for A/C. The staff was truly accommodating. Our restaurant staff and bar staff were very pleasant, and we need to give a shout out to Jefferson and Giovanni, who truly made our visit pleasant. The office staff accommodated our every need. If I or someone I know are going to San Pedro, I would recommend staying here. It's close to a lot of restaurants and bars, and you can walk to any of them. Although the hotel had excellent food, we ventured out to others.

Clean affordable rooms right in the middle of down town.

They had a great functioning air conditioning that helped during the night. The place was freshly renovated so everything was functional.

Not a fancy place, strict minimum but you get what you pay for. The lady at the front desk was great, and every morning there was a guy raking the beach and keeping the place clean.

My only complaint would be the loud music that plays late into the night right next door at the bar. Its loud.

The hotel is in a great location nd beautiful view, that's why the 3 stars. The room is relatively clean. The sink had zero water pressure so we had to use shower for washing hands etc. The water pressure isn't great in the shower either, but it comes out. You get 1 bath towel per person and one hand towel. If you want more you can rent a towel. When checking out they reprimanded me, as one towel had make up on it.

They have two wicker lounge chairs and the cushions were never out, even when I asked for them. Nice picnic tables at beach tho.

I've stayed at Holiday 6-7 times and that will be my last. Not expensive, but expected more for the price.

The restaurant is fair and convenient

Good Day Glen, Thank you for taking the time to reach out. To answer your question posted; It is only seasonal. It has been something occurring for the past few years throughout Central America. I can confirm that it has been subsiding and the coastlines are starting to return to its normality.

It is pretty quiet... located a bit down from the main part of town however you can still hear music from two local bars... I’ve stayed here several times and will be there again in a week and the noise has never bothered me. The bar closed at 10 but there are great places near by too that are open later. Paddle boarding isn’t available there but you can find some a mile down toward where the slide is or at the secret beach. It’s a great place to stay their restaurant and bar and staff are all amazing and you feel like your at home there.

If you are arriving at the International airport you will need to take a taxi to the boat terminal(takes approximately 30 minutes, and cost $25.00US per person one way) From Belize boat terminal to San Pedro the boat ride takes approximately 1 hour 1/2. The cost is $30.00US per person. You do not need to do reservation. For more information you can contact San Pedro Belize Express or Ocean Ferry Belize. The Flight from Belize International Airport takes approximately 20 minutes and it cost $160.00US per person, round trip. The flight needs to be reserved you can provide your international flight schedule and we can make reservations for you. You pay the flight at their desk upon checking in at the airport

Seems here was a combination of 2 and 3 prong (grounded) outlets. Don't know that I would trust the ground to be connected. If it's just a matter of being able to plug in you should bring an adaptor. You can also buy an inexpensive ground check tool. The "safe" was a simple wooden box with a small key/latch. As they say it kept the honest people out. The office offers a safer storage option for small valuables.
