We picked this place out of the Lonely Planet and it wasn't good!

The room had a strange musty smell and the shower was full of ants. The pillows on the bed were horribly flat and lumpy and the air conditioning rattled and hummed like a vacum cleaner. When I asked for a remote for the tv I was told they had all been stolen.

The worst thing was the room felt very unsecure. It was accessed via a flight of steps off the street right into the corridor - anybody (and everyone did) wander up. We were the only tourists staying there, many of the rooms were taken by locals.

Live music in the bar/restaurant below was extremely loud in the room.

My friend and I were travelling on our GAP year and didn't actually spend the night at this hotel we were so horrified when we saw it. We had foolishly booked it and prepaid in advance; when we arrived we were shown to our room by 'Fitz' the manager, who was quite clearly drunk. He showed us to our room and it smelled terrible, musty and dirty. The furniture was very old and mismatching and there was NO RUNNING WATER. We went downstairs to complain that the toilet would not flush and the taps weren't working; he assured us that someone was coming to fix it and it would be fine within half an hour. There was no remote control for the tv and the hotel didn't feel secure at all, even during the day time (we arrived in mid afternoon). My friend and I decided we would definitely try and find somewhere else to stay. As we had predicted, when we returned the water still wasn't working, but when we tried to speak to the manager about why we were leaving and trying to negotiate our deposit which we had pre-paid for three nights, we had no idea what we had let ourselves in for...a rude, agressive, alcoholic manager who was totally unreasonable and would not take me or my female friend seriously. He told us that when you book on the hotel website you are actually booking through an agency in Canada (which is not stated anywhere on the website) and so he couldn't refund our money. He also refused to call the agency because of his phonebill. Eventually, and with no refund, we left and found the Sunbreeze hotel down the road, which was more expensive but 100 times nicer, and we enjoyed our stay there. Our brief experience with the Coral Breeze Hotel was incredibly unpleasant and strongly tainted the rest of our stay in San Pedro.

not a picky person but....bed was hard as a rock, no warm water, so noisy with the club around the corner, bright street lights in the windows and other folks staying so noisy. The staff was nice and helpful though. If one wanted to say everything then there was no control for the air conditioner so it was on or off. (On frozen, Off sweating), pillows were so old the stuffing in balls. It served it's purpose but wouldn't suggest for someone that is not gonna go out and get hammered so they can sleep:)

We stayed two nights at this hotel. The staff was very helpful and provided us with lots of local information on where to eat. We were told Pedro's Inn was the cheapest hotel; yet we found this hotel to be much cheaper. We paid $75 BZE on weekday and $87BZE on weekend. There was a pizza/pasta restaurant on main floor and it is located in town; just off the beach.

The rooms were basic. The water for shower was hot. The air conditioner worked exceptionally well. We have been travelling for many months; it is not unusual to see the odd cockroach in a hotel (even the higher priced hotels). This hotel had more than one; but it wasn't infested; just noticeable. It is good to travel with bug spray in warm climates for people who are squeamish about even one cockroach.

I would recommend this hotel for the budget traveller. If you are looking for amenities and common areas to meet other guests; you may want to pick another hotel. We felt this hotel was better priced than the hostels; for a couple wanting a private room.

This is not a suite. It was much better than it needed to be considering the only time I was in the room was to sleep at night. There was hot water for a shower. Towels to dry off with and the air conditioning worked. A tv to fall asleep to, everything I needed in a room.
The owner/manager was a great asset to places to eat and places to avoid.

This hotel advertises a/c, TV, hot showers. The first room the gave me had no working TV, they moved me to another room that needed a new lock, They spent 9 hours trying to put a new lock on the door and could not do it. This is a 15 minuet job where I come from. The a/c also did not work, After all this time they then moved me into a 3rd room. I came back after 1 hour only to find out the a/c unit in that room also did not work but I was to tired so I just slept in the hot room. Got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. Cock roaches all over the place. In the morning i wanted to take a shower only to find out no hot water. In fact no water came out of the hot water valve at all. Had a cold water shave in the morning. Still all hot and stinky from no shower. Went to check out in the morning and told them I was not happy with the place and they did not seem to care at all. All I can say is I would never stay in that dump again. Nothing works....CockRoaches

I have stayed here in the past many times. There is now new management. In my dealings with new management they don't have what it will take to make this successful. The tv didn't work and I asked twice to have it replaced and they said they would but never did.
The room smelled as if someone had smoked in it. The AC didn't work well either. After brief inspection I found that the filter looks like it had never been looked at since new. I am very concerned that in the future the new owners will change the name so they can completely distance themselves from these reviews( I heard they must change the name as part of the lease agreement.).
The maid service was non exist the whole time during my stay. I had to purchase my own toiletries during the week and reuse my towel the whole time.
I will not go back as long as this hotel is under the same management. What a shame , it was a good place to stay.

Let's be clear - this is not a good hotel. It's dirty, noisy, smelly and worn down. What I found most poor was noise from the bar and street until late, that I couldn't tell if the sheets and towels where used or just stained and grey from too many washes and that the pillow actually wasn't a pillow but more like hard disgusting pieces of fabric in a pillow case. Floor was dirty, most lamps didn't work, the air conditioner was efficient but made strange noises and the bathroom was simply awful.
On the positive side: friendly staff, in the centre of the town, wifi and... no nothing else positive.

Hotel is a room but not much more. The building has a fresh coat of paint but it is very run down. First they did not have our reservation and told me they did not have a room but then the guy checking in said he hated the place and left so we took his room. The room was bare except for two beds and two fans and a small TV. We saw a couple of roaches. The building is about a block from the beach and was close to the dive shop Aqua Scuba. On the plus side, the AC did work and there was hot water in the shower so we stayed. I can tell you if we had wives or girlfriends along we would have moved.
