We loved our stay at Hol Chan Reef Resort. We arrived before check-in and enjoyed time in the hammocks on the dock until the room was ready. The rooms were clean, the kitchen was well-stocked, and the property was well-maintained. They arranged our flights, taxi to the hotel, and golf cart rentals. The staff go above and beyond to ensure your satisfaction - they helped us on several occasions with additional arrangements and last-minute changes. We booked two Suya Tours and both were excellent. We were there during peak mosquito season, so they hosed down our balcony daily but it remained unusable - perhaps reserve a lower-level apartment during the season as the mosquitos tend to cluster along the top floor. Town was a short 5-10 golf cart trip away - and there were several great restaurants nearby including Palmetto and Someplace South.

The view was breath taking and the acomidations were so relaxing. Away from the hussle and bussle but close enough that every thing you want to do is a short ride away. The staff is attentive and eager to help with navigating the island and making sure everything is spotless at the resort.

Just finished up a 9 day stay in Belize and stayed at Hol Chan villas. The condo was beautiful and well taken care of inside and out. They arranged all
Of our transportation to and from airport as well as golf carts. It is a little
Out of town but we loved that part of it. Felt nice to have a relaxing quiet area to come home to or spend a leisurely day. Most of our tours were handled by Suya tours and we were able to be picked up at our dock for all of them. The guides were so friendly and helpful! The concierge Richard handled most everything for us before we even arrived. Management was always around insuring everyone had what they needed and that you were enjoying your stay! Highly recommend Hol Chan and Suya tours! Can’t wait for our next visit!

There are both positives and negatives to this resort. Starting with the positives, the views are absolutely stunning, and the suites themselves are quite nice. Unfortunately, there were far more negatives than positives during our stay.

We traveled as a large family, including couples, seniors, and kids, and rented two different suites. Since we had two families in each suite, we requested two keys, which the resort could not provide. This became a major issue because the deadbolt on one of the doors (3B) could only be opened with a key, both inside and outside. We didn’t realize this until one person left and locked the door behind them. We ended up locked inside, and when we called the concierge for help, no one showed up with a key to let us out. We had to wait hours until our family member returned to unlock the door.
To make matters worse, the elevator broke during our stay, and my elderly father got stuck on it!!! He had to jump 6 feet out of the elevator when someone finally found him. He could have been seriously hurt, and there was no apology or follow-up from the resort!! To add to the frustration, my elderly mother, who has a disability, had to walk up three flights of stairs for a day and a half until the elevator was repaired.

The concierge also caused some significant problems. Although she organized several things for us (golf carts, restaurant reservations, and a private chef) I would strongly advise anyone staying here to avoid blindly following her recommendations. The restaurants she suggested served overpriced, terrible food. The golf carts we rented had multiple issues, including broken lights, which made driving in the dark dangerous. The resort is far from town, so those lights were needed. The biggest problem is that when I raised these concerns with the concierge, she was dismissive. She even went as far as questioning me about why we "locked the deadbolt on the door?" when I brought up getting locked in. I told her this is a fire hazard, and she shouldn't be questioning me on why I choose to lock a door. Imagine if there was an emergency and we are locked into a room 3 stories up with no way out! Unbelievable.

In the end, the beautiful views just weren’t enough to make up for the many issues we faced. If you decide to stay here, I highly recommend doing your own research and booking your own restaurants, golf carts, and activities. Also, make sure that your room can be exited in case of an emergency.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. While we are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations, we would like to address some of the points raised in your review. Golf Carts: Your group rented three golf carts during your stay, and all three had functioning lights. Two were equipped with LED lights, while one had standard lights, which are commonly used on the island. Following your concerns, we contacted the rental company, and they replaced the standard lights with LED lights for your convenience. Despite these challenges, the golf cart company went above and beyond by waiving the gas charges and allowing you extra time with the golf carts at no additional cost, as a gesture of goodwill. Elevator: We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the elevator malfunction. As soon as we were informed of the issue, we immediately arranged for the maintenance company to fly in from the mainland to repair it. We understand how frustrating this must have been, and we are taking steps to ensure reliability moving forward. Restaurant Recommendation: Your group requested the closest breakfast option, which the concierge recommended based on the availability at that time. However, we’d like to clarify that the concierge did not recommend other restaurants you visited or make any reservations for you. While we do let our guests know which restaurants are near the property, we are not responsible for the quality or service of businesses not affiliated with our property. Deadbolt and Keys: We understand your safety concerns regarding the deadbolt and will share this feedback with the condo owner for review. From our records, when you reported being locked inside, the concierge responded within five minutes to assist. Additionally, while we provided the maximum allowance of two keys per suite, we could not accommodate the request for a key per adult due to safety concerns. While we regret that your experience did not align with your expectations, we did our best to address all concerns promptly and work with third-party providers to resolve issues. We hope this clarifies some of the points in your review, and we appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve for future guests.

The property was amazing and the people at the resort were awesome, but our group was disappointed. The ad said there were two king beds and 2 double beds. Actually, there was only one king, one queen and a set of twins which could be pulled together. A big reason we choose Hol Chan Villa and Suites (HCVS) was for the two king beds. There was a huge difference on the bedrooms as well. The master suite was large while the other rooms were dark and small…our friends compromised so we could make it work.
The kitchen was minimally appointed. There was a discrepancy between what was on the shelf and what the label said as to numbers of items. Little things that would have made a difference were missing…there was no plastic wrap, no foil, no baggies, no BBQ utensils or stuff for Briquette BBQ, a 1/3 cup measuring cup only, no microwave cover, no cooking oil, no laundry soap, no cleaning products other than dish and dishwasher soap, one roll of paper towel and two or 3 rolls of toilet paper for an 11 day stay. We were informed we had to buy anything else at our expense.
The drapes in the master bedroom were not black out so we could read in bed at 6 am. They did not cover the window so there limited privacy with us being beside the pool.
You had to be a rocket scientist to figure out the TV (at least on Superbowl day) Superbowl because we could not connect. Both toilets had some issues with plugging where we had to call someone in. The beach has only 2 Palapalas and no umbrellas. Lawn furniture was also scarce and or nonexistent on busy days when all 16of the suites are occupied.
As I said earlier though the location itself was amazing. The people at the hotel were available, helpful and friendly (except Superbowl night). The bartender Edwin was a pleasure and made great drinks.
It would not take much to have made our experience more positive. We would go back but it was not as positive as it could have been. It would not cost much to add in these things. You also definitely need a golf cart, it was waiting for us when we arrived at the property.
We felt for what we were paying there should have been more attention to detail.
The internet was sporadic as was the cell reception.

Our second trip to San Pedro to stay at Hole Chan Reef Resorts was just as great as the first. Both trips we have stayed in Unit 4A. The furnishings of the unit are amazing! You can really tell that the owners have great pride in their condo and want all their guest to have an amazing experience. While traveling with three teenagers, this unit allowed for ample space to spread out and have down time and great living spaces to join back together for meals and watching movies. All the comforts of home, but with an amazing view of the ocean. We enjoyed the view with our morning coffee and as we wound down from the day. Our favorite thing to do is day trips with Lady Leslie tours (both the group tours and private tours are amazing) for snorkeling, swimming with sharks and rays, time at Caye Caulker, and snorkeling along side a manatee. The private tour with Rickie was tailored to what we wanted to do and enjoyed many items that other tours make you book separate tours to enjoy. Each morning we ventured into town to The Baker for fantastic cinnamon rolls and baked goods. We also successfully hit Paradise Ice Cream each day for our midday treat. San Pedro has a lot to offer and we enjoyed touring the area on golf cart and felt safe during our entire trip. The concierge service at Hol Chan Reef Resort and amazing and were very helpful in securing our golf cart rental and had it ready for us when we arrived at the condo. We look forward to our third trip and will without a doubt be staying in Unit 4A once again!

My wife and I joined another couple at the Hol Chan Reef Resort for about a week over Christmas (Dec 2021). It was a great resort with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean from huge ceiling to floor windows that looked out directly over the water. My wife loved to wake up and spend the morning just looking out at the beautiful clear-blue water.
The condo is very modern and well equipped with a great kitchen and TVs in every room with fast internet service. The local hosts were very professional and available for us if we had any needs or questions but let us have our space as well. Overall, a fabulous experience and we'll be back!

This resort was just perfect for our girls trip! The concierge Sandra might just be the kindest most helpful person we have ever met! The 3 bedroom 2 bathroom condo had absolutely everything we needed...from beach towels to a fully stocked kitchen. The balcony was roomy with seating at a table and lounge chairs with a beautiful ocean view. Beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked great especially in the bedrooms! Lounging at one of the 2 pools, or out on the sand by the ocean was so relaxing! The condo was in a great location, south of all the busy and noisy down town.
Sandra was so helpful before and during our trip, no question was too big or too small. Sandra did everything from helping schedule transportation to recommend great dining options! ( we LOVED Someplace South and it was just down the road) Richard helped with any activities and was so responsive and happy to help facilitate every activity we wanted to do ( Snorkel The Hol Chan reef!!!)

It's hard to decide where to start, as this property is so incredible! Our family had a video call with Stephanie (property manager) before our arrival. She helped us plan our vacation and answered all of our questions about the new protocols in place due to COVID-19. She and Cameron kept in constant communication before and after this call, making everything so easy for us. When we arrived, we knew exactly what to expect - it was like clockwork!

Felix greeted us upon arrival at the resort and was easily accessible by phone all through our stay. He also came to check on us by the pool and out on the pier on separate occasions. He, like every employee at the resort, wore masks. The groundskeeper wore gloves as he cleaned the beach furniture frequently. We felt very safe.

Our condo was gorgeously appointed and perfect for our family. The views from the balcony were so amazing that it's hard to put into words! We had so much fun using the kayaks and paddle boards, and even had a few corn hole tournaments on the beach! The grounds are very well maintained with lush landscaping everywhere.

We used Seaduced by Belize for all of our tours, and Gustavo made us feel so special. He's also very knowledgeable, and we learned so much about Belize from him. We wouldn't use anyone else besides Seaduced for tours after the wonderful experience we had.

It was so hard to leave this perfect little slice of paradise, but we'll be back, and will definitely stay at Hol Chan Reef Resort & Villas again.

This wasn't originally our first choice, but glad we ended up here. They sent a cab which was ready on our arrival from the water taxi and provided fresh ceviche with chips and rum punch when we arrived. They setup a private custom fishing/snorkeling trip for us that was really great, and not much more money than just the snorkeling trip we had planned. They tried to get us to book golf cart rental through the company the use, but we chose another company that was half the price - but it was double the problems (flat tires, dead batteries and long story short, we ended up going through 3 different golf carts before the week was over). I would recommend going with their suggested golf cart recommendation despite the extra cost, which is really close in price to other local companies. Everything was top notch and are finishing our week here having had a great time.

There was not one while we were there the beginning of November. There was a bar that was open directly across the street that serves pizza, but otherwise no on site bar/restaurant.

Not really. It's not a really attractive beach per se. Mostly seaweed and sea grass out for at least 1/4 mile
