I recently visited san pedro in ambergris caye and stayed at hotel san pedrano. I recommend this hotel for the traveler who doesn't want to spend too much on lodging. The hotel is clean with a decent size bathroom, although the shower water smelled like urine when you first turn it on. Keep in mind that many of the hotels in san pedro are in old buildings and not that spacious. If you want a hotel room with a lot of space and amenities, go with the resorts. I stayed at Lily's hotel as well which is located right next door, and found that it was smaller and costed a little more. I also saw a room at Martha's hotel and found it dark and small. Overall, I think hotel san pedrano is the best one. I paid $65 belize dollars for a triple room with A/C which fits well with my budget. It is located towards the end of the strip and steps away from the beach. don't worry too much about not being in the center of town because san pedro is very small. Everything is within walking distant. However, you can rent out golf carts to get around if you prefer.

This hotel is well located and for the price can't be beat. It's only a few yards from the water. The rooms are clean. It's not modern, but it is comfortable. Don't stay here if you're looking for a luxury experience, but if your diving or doing anything else on a budget this is a good place. The only negative is the street noise at night can be loud especially if you have the windows open

this hotel is a steal for the location alone! Forget pedros inn! that place is inauthentic and honestly not that nice. San pedrano is run by a native family and has that charm of a guest house . They have both a/c and non a/c rooms and all rooms are on a balcony, so you get the lovely breeze and sunshine all the time. I moved from a previous hotel to this one after my first night and running around the island looking for alternatives! this is def the best deal for a good room at a great locations.

ps.. amazing water pressure (always), daily room cleaning, convenient store and restaurant downstairs

Doesn't look good at first sight, but once you get over that. The place works very well for checking out ambergris Island for a couple of days before moving on. The room was clean. There was hot running water! Shower pressure was Good. And the Internet connection was consistently reliable. this says something, because the previous 5 ish star I'd just come from in northern Belize; the there was no wifi connection for 6 of the 8 days I stayed there.
So San Padrano, though looking quite 'crusty' on the surface was very satisfying. The owners, obviously a family were very nice and cordial. Although this little place was smack in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the town, I felt very safe. And I also felt safe to leave my stuff in the room.
It's close to the water taxi and airport for getting to your next Belize destination.
The price was fair. all in all a great value!

A funky room above a convience store on the main drag is what you should expect with a funny bed on wheels. Nothing wrong with the place but it was very noisy, the corner our room was above seemed to be the hang out for the local drug dealers as we were offered drugs multiple times as we left. Noisy motorised golf carts can be herd from early morn to late at night. We piad $55US and we felt it should be about half that, compaired with other places we staied for the same price near by. One plus is that it is walking distance to everything, just you pay the price of noise with this location.

This place is right in town on the each you can not find a better in town location for the price and it is far enough away from the bars that stay open late to not keep you up at night. I really enjoyed my stay there

We've been using the San Pedrano Hotel for groups for the better part of a decade now, and it's still at the top of our choice list for handling groups at a good rate. It's located in town, so while it gets noisy, it's great for walking to all the food and bars. They have a medium sized store on the first floor that has just about everything you need too.

I'm sure we'll be back again, and that's why I'm giving 4 stars.

I spent 5 nights in the San Pedrano, at $45/night. The good: location is great, close to everything. Plenty of hot water and AC, and secure. The bad, simple older rooms with hard beds and tiny TV's. But I stayed one night next door in Tio Phils, now renovating it to DC's, and I paid $75 for the same thing. The San Pedrano is the best hotel for your money on the island if you are on a budget and looking for the highest value

i have stayed at this hotel twice and if i have to return for vacation to San Pedro definitely i will chose this hotel again. There are only two hotels in San Pedro with a decent budget choice but this is one is the perfect place if you want to sleep in a clean room for decent price. Run by a local and friendly family who also has a grocery store in the first floor which is also good for those who wants to buy some juice or fruit in the morning. The best thing of this hotel is the location, everything is close! Stay here...no doubt!
