My daughter and I enjoyed a fantastic week at Ocean Tides Hotel. Tula the manager was super helpful and communicative with directions, ferry information from Beliz city and went above and beyond to create a very welcoming and wonderful experience. We got upgraded to a lovely double queen bed. Firstly, I need great pillows for my sleep and the bedding was soft and very comfortable. The air conditioning was perfect to cool off and rest in between the fun. Large tote with pool towels included. Shampoo, conditioner and body soap in the shower. Fresh, clean towels This hotel is situated right on the beach and there a numerous great restaurants and dive and snorkel options. Upon arrival we received a welcome cocktail at the bar by the pool and Raymundo and Gabi became our favorite bartenders. Respectfully, the bar closes at 9pm and security stays overnight so when you return from dinner you feel safe. Having said that we felt very much at home, we met amazing boat captains and locals that brought us many gifts of local flair. Belizean people and warm and friendly and are always happy to help. A couple of tips. If you take the ferry, as always there are taxi drivers waiting. Skip the car and take a cart. Shouldn’t be more than 10$ belizean dollars. The ride is about 3-4 minutes and we paid $20 us for a car. It’s not a place to safe $$ but I would rather spend on other fun activities. Great espresso and heave duty breakfast for the day right next store. 16 Ounces is walking distance if you want beautiful , healthy juices and food and much more. Overall, we would like to return with the rest of our family. I love San Pedro and inlet part of my heart to there.

This place does not miss a mark on a single one! Not just clean on arrival, but cleaned and refreshed every day. The bed, the pillows, the sheets-clean and crisp and ooooh, so comfy! And I will forever miss that shower!! The water pressure and rain shower made rinsing off after a day at sea so easy!
Then there are all the little things-the soft fluffy towels, hooks everywhere, a laundry line in the shower, and the little library (found a great read while I was there and it’s already back on the shelf)!
Location couldn’t be better! So easy to walk to great restaurants, beach bars, and enjoy a drink at one of the overwater palapas.
Last, but certainly not least, the amazing staff team made us feel welcome and right at home. We enjoyed getting to know everyone throughout our stay and felt taken care of each and every moment we were there.
We can’t wait to return!!

We just spent 8 nights here and it was wonderful. I'm not sure what others are complaining about. Yes, this is an older property. We had a working TV with free wifi in our room (not that we watched TV since we were in the Caribbean!) The curfew was 10 p.m. but for the weekend it moved to midnight when we left. The staff here were simply wonderful and helpful. Dave, the front desk manager was super welcoming. He even let me borrow his cell phone to make a call to my bank (my phone didn't work in BZ) since I forgot to have my international banking approved before I left. He even loaned us a 5 gallon jug so we could get water for our stay. Carolina was our housekeeping staff and we had wonderful conversations with her. Karen was the tour coordinator and she went above and beyond to share excursions and set them up for us. She would come by the hotel to share more info and was instrumental in helping us enjoy our stay. The pool here is perfect - it was very clean and the water was a nice cool temp which felt great after being in the hot sun all day. The floors in the rooms are wood and that is perfect for when you track sand in from the outside. Our bathroom had a full tub/shower and the water pressure was strong and the water was hot if you needed it. Don't forget, you are in the Caribbean and the salt in the air impacts the fixtures. Our bathroom wasn't dirty at all - the faucet just looked corroded from the salt but again, who cares? If you want a 5 star hotel, book a 5 star resort! Our towels were clean, as was the rest of the bathroom. Ocean Tide is a very affordable place, centrally located with the beach literally across the "road", such as it is. Nice big deck to relax by the pool. Its a 2 min walk to multiple bars and about 5 min walk to get into town. There is an AC unit in each room that keeps it nice and cool when you get back. We left ours off to conserve energy (this is a 3rd world country after all) and it cooled down within minutes when we turned it on. We had a great time with zero complaints and were blown away by how friendly the people of Belize were. All of the staff at Ocean Tide were wonderful - so much so that we got their contact information to stay in touch with them. We will go back in a heartbeat. Sometimes I think people complain for the sake of complaining or their standards are so high they'll never be happy. Book with confidence and know you'll have a great time here.

We spent 11 nights at this charming little oceanfront hotel. The rooms have been newly and tastefully renovated and all face the ocean overlooking the pool. There is small pool bar which at times can have some action but offer fantastic cocktails by the pool. It shuts down at a reasonable time so for us the noise was not an issue. We found there was always available seating around the pool. The hotel itself is about a 20 min walk from the airport so we walked to a number of fantastic restaurants in the downtown. The hotel has overnight security on the property although I am guessing it is more to watch the bar. San Pedro is very safe and some of the friendliest people you will meet. The staff at the hotel are all very friendly and very helpful including Tula, TY and Clive.

Staff are super friendly and welcoming! Beds are extremely comfortable and AC is very powerful. Beautiful sunrise and reef views everyday. Hotel is walking distance to town and so many tasty restaurants. The hotel was able to provide transportation to and from the local airport, which helped navigating to the hotel upon arrival.
Took a boating tour with boat captain, Jiggy, had such a fun time! We did a full day tour with fishing, snorkeling with rays and sharks, and beach BBQ. Must try for every guest! This was by far my favorite part of the trip, being on the water. The hotel also had a variety of tours like trip to Caye Caulker, Mexico Rocks, Hol Chan, and mainland tours.

One of the best vacations we've ever been on! The hotel staff and amenities were great! The rooms appeared to have been recently renovated, very modern and nice. The hotel location provides access to several restaurants and beach bars in walking distance. Although, the hotel bar offers plenty! The highlight of our trip were the excursions booked through the hotel. The first day Jiggy took us fishing and a trip to Caye Caulker for the tarpon, seahorses and stingrays. The second day Jiggy led us on a snorkeling trip, conch diving and swimming with sharks and sting rays. He even prepared fresh conch ceviche from the conchs we collected. Our third trip involved going to the mainland for the mayan ruins at Altun-Ha and cave tubing. So many adventures in one trip! I would recommend the hotel and their excursions 1000 times over! Such a great vacation!!

First, one good thing, the room had AC. This hotel is very dated and in my opinion not very clean. I booked my stay through Booking.Com, the manager is very rude but I wrote it off as a culture difference but realize that was a lame excuse for a business manager. This hotel had no TV, right now there is a curfew in place due to Covid. Therefore, after 10 pm you are in your room. The manager stated that's why they provide free WI-FI, she also stated there was no TV because they reduce the prices of the room. The bathroom was not very clean and no water pressure in the showers, the gray face clothes (which I think was once white) looked like rags you clean your car with. The swimming pool was in need of cleaning, the titles on the floor is long overdue to be replaced. I read some of the other reviews on this hotel and I wonder if there was a special back door where they stayed at maybe a totally different hotel. Then on the other hand different taste for different folks. No I would not stay again.

We did a family fishing trip with 501 Adventure Tours and Captain Dorian "Jiggy" Carrillo. He keeps his boat on the dock in front of the Resort, next to Cool Beans. The whole family enjoyed the trip. Captain Jiggy picked us up at the dock, he first caught fresh sardines for bait, and then took us to our fishing spot. We caught about 16 fish and he filet the catch and took to a local restaurant that prepared them three ways, cajon blackened, fried, and grilled. With a choice of sides and drinks. Was a feast. Memorable trip, highly recommend.

This hotel is perfect for a couple wanting to explore San Pedro and wants to avoid the resorts. Rooms are fairly updated and are kept very clean. The AC blows cold! It is walking distance from great food, grocery stores, and golf cart rentals. Tula at the front desk was very helpful getting us to and from the airport and the ferry to Belize City. We did a full day snorkeling and fishing tour with Jiggy and we loved it. He took great care of us, make great ceviche, and make sure we had a great time. We can’t say enough good things about Jiggy! The bar tenders Tevin and Clive were great and gave us suggestions of the places to go explore and places to eat. Great people and a great place. I recommend this place to friends and family.

We met Jiggy in town and in turn, let him take us out 3 days in a row. His expert knowledge of the area allowed us to maximize our vacation. From fishing, snorkeling, catching lobster and making fresh ceviche on the boat, showing us the tarpon and seahorses, as well as letting us swim with rays and sharks. Jiggy and his brother made this trip one to remember. We highly recommend him for any type of adventure you are in the mood for. He even took us to another island, Caye Caulker where he walked us around the town and explained everything to us. He made several recommendations of restaurants that always turned out better than expected. He supplies waters, sodas, ice, fresh fruit, and most importantly… something to splash in the coke! Could not give these guys a higher rating!

Correct. There is really no "beach." It's a rocky, gravelly beach area in front but there is constant golf cart and vehicle traffic. There are other areas to swim and snorkel...I'd recommend a tour for the best snorkeling.
My answer would be no. I stayed here back in February and there are plenty of placed in walking distance. That's probably what makes this place worth staying at the most. Modest in regards to accommodations, but excellent in terms of location to food and activities.
There are more places to choose from in the San Pedro area.
