When we were taken to our room, our jaws almost dropped in astonishment at how NICE the place is. Our seaside “room” was really a 2-bedroom apartment, and a beautiful one at that. The beds were very comfortable, the view magnificent, and the entire place spotless and well appointed. The staff were absolutely delightful and enthusiastic. Shawna at the front desk is amazing! The dock is a great place to relax with a drink to take in the sunrise or sunset (look for the little tarpon at night or borrow a snorkel to check out the reef fish that live in the swimming zone). The bar makes really good rum punch and the breakfasts were delicious. You’ll definitely want to rent a golf cart to get dinner (hint: check out Robin’s Place for great chicken). We highly recommend PRV!

Totally different from our typical large resort vacation, we absolutely loved our stay at Pelican Reef Villas! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful and quiet location with excellent service by amazing staff. Our family of 5 stayed here for our first time visiting Belize. Husband and I plus our 3 active teen daughters (17-18-19). We booked the “garden view” 3-bedroom/3-bath suite with a few weeks notice. I can see how the ocean view rooms would be amazing, but you can still see the ocean and pier from #24. Our 3 daughters shared the Master Suite on the top floor. They loved the seclusion up there, the room was very spacious, double sink bathroom, separate walk in shower and their own jacuzzi tub. They were like princesses in the tower. The rest of the suite was very well appointed- a/c was strong, fans in every room, spacious living room and dining area, full kitchen with good selection of cooking utensils. Knowing that we were visiting during “Green” season we planned for some rainy days/evenings to cook in and hang out in our suite. Plus we enjoy late-night munchies- having a kitchen is a priority. PRV is a couple miles south of town. Strongly recommend that you rent a golf cart if you stay here! It looks so close to town on the map but it’s a good 15 minute golf cart ride to get into town. The first half mile or so is on a dirt road with lots of potholes— the streets in town are cobblestones. At night it does get dark on the dirt road but you can’t get lost— it’s just one road in/out. After a few days, our daughters felt safe enough to take the cart into town on their own. Besides going into town for dinners or shopping, all of our excursion pickups were directly from our doorstep or pier, even our golf cart rental was dropped off/picked up from PRV. So convenient! Sunbathing on the pier was so serene. You can take a dip in the water from there, snorkel, use one of the resorts (free) kayaks or paddle boards. Also… the staff will bring your drinks and food out there! The beach is just as nice and peaceful too. I do recommend getting a massage on the beach! Note this not a walk up/swimmable beach— to get in the water you need to go to the end of the pier which is apparently typical for the entire island. We enjoyed the small infinity pool and swim up bar as well. So you get the jist— it’s a small resort with all the features of a big luxury property but with a more local, chill, friendly vibe. But the main reason for this 5-star review is the service and staff! Tristian is awesome with his email correspondence during the planning. Tristian, Tony and Cindy provided top notch concierge services— they provided great recommendations, we simply told them what we wanted to do and they took care of all the bookings for excursions and dinner reservations. Enrique is amazing! Eli, Byron and Steve were also all super friendly. Attentive service at the bar, poolside, and for breakfast/lunch too… great conversations, yummy cocktails, all of them went out of their way to make our stay memorable! Thank you PRV! We had an amazing stay at Pelican Reef Villas Resort. Not only was the restort clean and well maintained but the staff was remarkabley nice. There was not a day went by that a staff asked if we needed anything or just how we were (even the garden and cleaning staff). We were so impressed! The bar staff Enrique and Niem were THE BEST!!!!! We so enjoyed visiting with them and they were happy to tell us information regarding the island (places to eat, where to go visit, ect). I also want to say that while booking from the states the resort gave us all the resouces needed to book the domestic flight, golf cart, and exursions through them. So impressed how easy it was and we had no issues. REMARKABLE!!! They shoud really pat themselves on the back because there dedication and service is top notch. Regarding San Pedro, we loved our visit -all the food was great, people were so friendly and it was easy to get around the island. We will !00% be going back and staying again! …

A lovely serene small hotel on the beach. Service was great. Food was great. The swimming/snorkeling off the dock was great. The snorkel tours, especially Mexico Rocks were wonderful. The boat picked us up right at the dock. Can’t say enough good things about Pelican Reef.

Pelican Reef — Spectacular in every way — small and intimate, staff is top notch — perfect balance of attentive and casual, felt like family even before we arrived. Tristan was great and helped plan excursions, provided recommendations on restaurants and NEVER steered us wrong. I could go on and on (and on) but could not recommend a place more. Pelican Reef Resort is paradise! The accommodations are super comfy and have everything you need. The resort is right on the beach and has a beautiful pool and bar. The best part is the people who work there. Tristan, Shawna, and Christian (and everyone else!) are the nicest people I’ve ever met. They took great care of us and were wonderful to hang out with. I couldn’t recommend this resort more, and I can’t wait to go back!

Our family of 4 had a wonderful time at Pelican Reef Villas. I had such a hard time deciding where to stay, and I'm glad we chose this. We had a pool/ocean view villa, which was large and clean with AC throughout. The concierge and staff service was amazing, and the food was good. We did the Hol Chan/Shark Alley snorkeling expedition, which was so close to the resort. We also walked to dinner one night and took a golf cart out to explore Ambergris. It was a great time and would wholly recommend!

I have been to Ambergris Caye several times and have tried other hotels/resorts. Nothing compares to Pelican Reef. Once I found Pelican Reef I could not imagine staying anywhere else. The facilities, the staff , the service, location are top notch!! All the elements come together to create a vibe and atmosphere that put you at ease and a feeling of welcome and you are home. It has been almost 10 years since I have been able to make it back to the island and I was not surprised that the standards at Pelican Reef have been uncompromising and with all my traveling around the world, it is still one of the best places that I love to stay. I can't say enough about the attention to detail and the attention to service. Tristian provides superior leadership for the staff and the staff care about your experience as if you were their family. The location is perfect since it is a little out of town and less crowded, but close enough to get anywhere on the island. The grounds are impeccably groomed and maintained. The rooms are large, modern and extremely clean. Like I said, I can't imagine staying anywhere else on the island when I go. …

This was an incredible resort. They are very attentive and make sure that every need is fulfilled. The breakfast that is included is very good and plenty of it. I would definitely encourage using their transportation to and back from the resort. Rent a golf cart while staying there. Also, go out to the pier about 7pm. The tarpin come up, and you can see them. There is a flashlight in the room..take it with you to see them.

Pelican Reef Villas really was like an elevated home away from home. The rooms were large and comfortable. The beds were wonderful especially a long day of exciting excursions that the team put together for us. We went snorkeling twice and came back to outstanding hospitality. Special thanks to Tristian who was a joy to connect with each morning alongside his female co-worker whose name escapes my (but her smile and warmth don't!), and Enrique the bartender was a really neat guy who shared with us a little bit about his family and history with this lovely place. This was our teenagers' first trip abroad, and PRV set the bar high! PRV, thanks for the clear communication throughout the entire planning process too!
