This place has a lot of potential but I think it's little exploited. The place has a very good position, at the famous Split, on the main "road", with sea view. It has the the most spectacular view of the whole island on the roof terrace but I think everything (rooms, terrace itself, the dock, sunchairs, bycicles etc.) could be cared more. Our apartment was clean and spacious (we stayed in one of the new two double beds apartments on the back) but we always though we were missing something. It's a mixed feeling: we were quite happy to stay at Costa Maya but I think we wouldn't come back.
Beautiful rooftop area with hammocks and chairs! Different but a cultural experience! Not what we were expecting, and I wouldn’t recommend it to someone who is looking for really luxurious and fancy. If I went again I would probably pay the extra 30 bucks or so to get a suite, because our room was a little on the small and shabby side. But the AC works great and when you’re in Belize that’s pretty important! 😊
I don’t write many reviews but wanted to let people know that we keep going back every year to Costa Maya Cabanas where we feel so at home with good people, clean comfortable accommodations and amenities within reach...being immediately on the water there is a constant “breeze”...wind and amazing views...terrific location!
I choose this place for the location and value. I was not looking for a high end five star resort. I wanted small, local and rustic and this place was perfect. Excellent value and Seni made the stay even better as she was alway quick to respond and helpful with all my questions when booking, even going above and beyond and sending me extra pictures of the room we booked to make sure I would work for us. The deck off our cabina was wonderful and our son appreciated the wifi. It was close to the split yes also within walking distance to all restaurants on the strip. Let’s face it Caye Caulker is small, you can walk everywhere but being closer to the split is a nicer location. If you are coming in from Belize international ask Seni to help arrange transportation to Caye caulker. . She did for us and it was really nice to know someone would be meeting us at the airport.…
I already did all the research including coming to Caye Caulker every year and staying 3 weeks to a month. Stay here. It’s the best place at the best price. Big ocean view rooms. Seni is the manager and she is super nice. Carmaleena is the room cleaner and she works hard and deserves a big tip. Every year we come here and are very happy with the accommodations and location.
