Staying at The Great House Hotel was a genuinely fine experience. The staff were very helpful, and although all dining was closed down for Christmas day, it was easy to access nearby amenities at the Radisson Hotel. In other words, we were able to enjoy 'old world charm' but also have the convenience of other places to eat. Security seemed...

We spent 2 nights in December in this Colonial style house, before and after Christmas on our way to Placencia. We had first a Standard room, very spacious and nice enough, but needs renovating. The second room was more expensive, but totally renovated and very nice. Worth the extra money, even if we found that it was a little expensive.

First, the hotel is located in a safe area of Belize City, which was nice. There's a wonderful cafe next door that the hotel gives a breakfast voucher for. The rooms are pretty spacious, with decent beds and great bathrooms. The front desk check-in is simple and easy, with a friendly staff. The rates were reasonable and either the same...

See earlier comments. Our room was spacious and clean; the staff was helpful and friendly. There are stairs to be climbed to the front desk and there is no elevator. We thought the price of the room was high compared to other hotels in Belize City, though it is below the price of the Radisson, but many of those hotels...

Beautiful 3-story plantation house with Caribbean views, shuttle airport taxi, close to express bus pickup at Swing Bridge. A good restaurant--The SMOKY Mermaid downstairs with outdoor tables in a jungle garden

We spent the first night of our 10-day anniversary celebration at The Great House. During the evening my husband leaned on a glass coffee table to pick up a remote and the glass fell off the base and shattered. It fell onto an area rug below the table, but there were glass shards all over. My husband went to tell...

Cool clean and tidy is this upscale old home come hotel. Opposite the radisson it oozes old world charm. It is situated in a dilapidated part of town but is actually newly renovated and comfy. Lag rooms and hot powerful showers make this the best stay in Belize. Alas no restaurant but a few excellent locals make this a Non...

We did a week on a Aggressor IV livaboard and stayed here on Friday night before our late fight out on Saturday. Stated rates are about 10% less than the Radisson (next door) but we asked for a better rate and ended up about 30% less than the Radisson. The place has a nice character, good beds, hot shower and...

We absolutely loved this hotel! The staff were very accommodating and provided us with some little snacks in our room! The hotel was clean and safe! We would definitely stay here again! They provide you with a breakfast voucher for the little cafe next store. Really enjoyed our stay!

For a hundred year home in Belize it is in amazing condition. Our room was quite, had excellent AC and the decor was perfectly pleasing. Fast WIFI everywhere. There was also a porch swing and porches that wrapped all away around each floor for beautiful panoramic views. The only I found was the restaurant on the first floor. I don't...
