The pictures don't do it justice. We booked a double room for the 3 of us and it was perfect. The beds were very comfortable, the A/C was ice-cold and the bathroom en suite was cleaner than mine. The Western Guest House is in a perfect location on the "famous" Burns Avenue in San Ignacio. It is about two blocks down from the "action" (restaurants and people) -- close enough to walk over to easily but far enough away from the noise. Just the other direction on Burns at the end of the street is the very nice...

It was a pleasant stay. A grandmotherly lady allowed us to use their fridge. She left us a phone, so we could call her if we need anything. A small balcony with arm chairs are perfect in the evening, when you come back with a couple of beers and enjoy warm weather sipping cold drink. The guesthouse is very close...

Family-run for the last seven years. My taxi driver (from Belize City) didn't know where Burns Avenue was located (it's the main commercial street!), so get clear directions. We loved this place. Great rooms, lovely place and helpful staff - for only a tiny bit more than you'd pay for a dingy hostel room down the road. We have stayed at this guesthouse twice now and really recommend it. It is clean, tidy and peaceful as well as being really near the centre of town. There is free coffee and water and use of the kitchen, living room and porch. All in all, very relaxing place.

The staff was super accommodating. They took in a whole lot of us with very little notice because we were fleeing from hurricane Earl. They made sure we were set with water and flash lights.
