My family and I stayed just down the road, but we ate here twice. The food and drinks were both wonderful and inventive. The service was very friendly and the setting was fantastic, right on the beach. As I said, we did not stay here,...More
After 10 days of snorkeling, zip lining, ruins climbing, and more with family members, my husband and I had a week at the Maya Beach Hotel by ourselves. Love this place and recommend it to anyone who wants a peaceful, quiet, comfortable, and relaxing vacation...More
We stayed in the Dreamsicle house, which was awesome. Beautiful view of the beach from the porch, private pool, full kitchen, ac, and comfortable beds.
The hotel has kayaks, bikes and paddle boards for use, an the staff is extremely helpful and eager to please....More
We stayed for a week in a bungalow. It was quiet, nice size for 2, sliding glass doors with a beautiful front porch view. The house has AC and was fully equipped for cooking. It even had bamboo sheets and beach towels. What luxury! Would...More
We chose to stay in the Agua Villa, a separate beach bungalow managed by the Maya Beach Hotel. The hotel/restaurant was only a couple hundred feet from the bungalow, which was convenient for meals - and once we had tasted the dinner and breakfast menus...More

Hi Vivian! Thanks for the review, and it was so nice to meet you and your wonderful family.
I only wish you had mentioned the bed configuration while you were here...one of the kings actually splits into twins! Sorry if that caused a little more...More

There is a small shuttle airport on Placencia, that you can fly into and out of to BZE. I can't tell you about rental cars but if you are staying on the peninsula I would recommend a golf cart (yes, they are allowed on the road but be back before dark because there are no street lights and it is very dark). Consider hiring a car and driver if you want to travel around for a day or two or take a tour to the various sights. We stayed in the Flip Flop Palace at the Maya Beach Hotel (they can help with transportation to/from the airport). Maya Beach hotel is NOT a big, glitzy hotel but small, very nice and quiet (read the reviews). We stayed there for 10 days. The restaurant is the best in the area and is a short beach walk. There are 4 rooms in the Flip Flop Palace, 2 upper and 2 lower. We stayed in #2 upper, if you want to be on the beach take a lower. There is a scuba shop in town that has very nice scuba/snorkle trips (you can swim with nurse shark).
