The Maya Beach hotel was perfect for what we were looking for - a peaceful, beautiful place in paradise where we are well taken care of while not being subjected to sensory overload. The hotel is literally on the beach and our front porch looked...More
We stayed at the Maya Beach Hotel for 4 nights in the King Conch Suite and enjoyed every moment of our stay. We relaxed on the beach, ate at the restaurant everyday, swam in the pool and went on a couple of excursions. The staff...More
We enjoyed several really delicious dinners with a different slant on the local cuisine. Very friendly attentive staff and owners.
The view and sea breeze are a dight on the hot nights
We really loved the triple combination of entrees and the seafood chowder

The hotel does not provide transportation from the airports in Belize City. You can take a puddle jumper from Belize City directly to the airport in Placencia and they will be able to arrange for a pick up from there which is only about 10 minutes from the hotel. The drive from Belize City to Placencia is about 3 hours. I would not recommend doing this drive when it's dark. The roads in Belize are not well lit at night and you will come across about 10-12 short one lane bridges that sneak up on you at night . During the day it is a pleasant drive that is very scenic.
