We missed our plane connection because our flight was delayed and we could not arrive for our reservation; we advised the hotel we wouldn't make it. Even thought we had just made and paid for the reservation less than 24 hours earlier, and the hotel was not booked, the managers at first did not respond at all, but then would not offer a credit for a future night or any other consideration. They were completely unsympathetic and could not have cared less. It was entitled to not offer a credit, as the reservation was nonrefundable, but we have travelled and stayed at scores of hotels all over the world, and never once have had a problem like this with management when we have not been able to make a reservation due to circumstances indisputably beyond our control. Again, the hotel was within its rights, but there was no cost to it. They elected to employ a "gotcha" tack when, without any cost to them, they could have shown some dignity and graciousness and simply let us use the money we had paid about 18 hours earlier for a room at a later time. This maneuver was particularly rediculous and is bad for AC's business. Due to this experience, we will never again stay at this hotel, or another AC Marriott, and we well continue to advise all of our friends and business contacts of how we were treated. Had the hotel done the human thing and not stood on its "policy," they would have had very happy customers.

It was comfortable, clean and very well located and the staff made us felt welcomed as soon as we arrived. The hotel is very well situated at a very safe Guatemala City Zone. We did not feel unsafe at any moment. They also included omelets and any type of coffee in their breakfast buffet at no additional cost. They have also live music on level 6 where you can overview the city and have good view to the volcanoes surrounding the city.

Did not feel like a Marriott. Rooms not so welcoming beds were very hard, shower floor extremely dangerous slippery. I would definitely not stay there again. Location is good but hotel feels like it wasn’t thought out, put together with budget furnishings. Employees were friendly but for a prestigious chain it leaves a lot to be desired.

Really beautiful hotel in a great area within Guatemala City. Surrounding area is very safe with beautiful restaurants and shops. The hotel itself has lovely modern rooms which are very spacious. Rooms also have great views across the city towards the volcanoes. Breakfast was great and the service from all staff was above average.

If quiet, clean, and modern is luxurious ; this is luxury! Seriously, this is why I come back here for the visit with family. The area is upscale surrounded by similar upscale stores etc. It is a short walk to lots of choice dining (see separate review of Restaurant Escobar) for tasty steaks. Room is spotless with clean shower. The beds are fabulous.

It is a good location to stay in as you have shops, bars and restaurants in the same closed space. The rooms are new and clean, the room has a mini fridge. I would recommend not to ask for the breakfast included as you have many other options in Cayala. The only bad part of the hotel is the coffee machine was not working, when i got there the shower cap and sewing kit were already open and when i asked for a toothbrush they now charge for this.

1. The services was terrible. I had to call three or four times to get an extra pillows, towels, and toilet paper. 2. The staff in the front desk don’t have the experience to get a perfect service. They don’t want to resolve problems. 3. They don’t have a room service. 4. You need to request that clean our room 24 hours before. 5. The bathroom privacy is terrible!.

If you’re looking for a beautiful spot in a clean part of town with a very nice breakfast with a view of the volcano - this is the spot for you. The service was excellent, the staff cheerful and helpful. More than anything else it had immaculately clean rooms with super air conditioning. The only fault I could find was the towels could be upgraded. I was just in for a few days of business but it had great pillows and a comfortable mattress. It isn’t a hotel with charm as it is relatively new, but sometimes you just want something where you feel safe and comfortable. This is in a beautiful part of the city, Cayala and in early Nov they begin their Christmas celebrations. It was lovely. Easily walkable to fun shops and a pretty park also.
