Not suitable for business travelers more for tourists. Unable to conduct meetings in the public areas (business , lounge, or patio). If you plan to relax or have a casual business discussion it will be very difficult. My clients (locals) and myself repeatedly asked for the music to be turned down, even slightly. We were told by the staff it was not possible as per management policy. It was to create an atmosphere to attract street business to the bar. The patio was impossible to sit out on as the large speakers are directly over your head. There are better hotels in the area which are more suitable. Best for tourists for a stop over.
I wanted to stay in the best district zone 10 our last day in Guatemala City. We found Clarion Suites to be at the top of the list for comfort and excellent location to get to the airport easily the next morning. The rooms were plush and the beds are comfortable. Filtered drinking water in the rooms was a big plus. La Poza, a Jungle room scene where the breakfast is served is really an experience, along with tropical plants, Myan rocks and a waterfall. Great breakfast and dinner house. Very attentive professional staff. The front desk printed our Boarding passes and vaccine requirements for the airport. Everything was excellent. 5 stars!
The Clarion Suites is your standard business hotel with nice big rooms and a gym and restaurant on the premises. It is located in zone 10, which is a nice and safe part of Guatemala City. The hotel is 15 mins/10 USD drive from the airport, which is very convenient.
I have stayed two times in the last two months, first during 2 weeks and later only 1 week. Arrived tired from office and every time I choose to call room service the call either was not picked up, had to call at least 4 times, and twice I had to go down to ask personally what to order, other times I had to call the front desk to assist but was not of any help either. The rooms are clean and most of people is attentive, but the room service is just really bad. I am recommending other colleagues to choose other hotels in the zone.
The suites are large and comfortable and the price is usually one of the more competitive in the area...basically a good deal for the money. They usually allow for an early check in which I also appreciate. They also seem less up tight about having outside guests visits than some of the other Guatemala City hotels.
The staff were super friendly and the location was great. The only issue was that the AC couldn’t quite cool the room to our liking, but we like it really cool. The bed was quite comfortable and the shower was great.
This hotel is really really good and not too expensive. The suites are clean, modern furniture, amazing pillows with confortable beds. The breakfast is ok, You van have espresso If You want, and that is a good thing for ones who don't love americano coffe. A Little bit cold at breakfast. And no vanity kit in the bathroom
After a new experience of only being able to use a digital key (no cards), it was up hill from there. The rooms are pristine and the staff is stellar. The Manager (Christian) was sincerely there to make us feel welcome, comfortable, and ready for whatever we would need. I was very impressed with his sincerity Go just for the buffet breakfast and you will want to stay at the hotel for just that alone. A couple trinket vendors outside, but we did not see a need to leave the hotel. Shuttle was clean and on time. Will be staying there with our associates in the future.
There are several positives and only a few negatives. The restaurant is designed very well using plants and water features to give it a natural feel. The breakfast buffet is average. For about $30 US Dollars with tip, it is expensive for what you get. The gym is very good. The weights area is separate from the treadmills. All the machines were clean and worked well. They put the gym on the 17th or top floor. What I found odd was that I am a Diamond Elite member, but was never offered nor did they mention that they had a top floor courtesy room with drinks and morning foods. So much for being a Diamond. Second, you will see in the picture I submitted that they put a towel rack above the toilet. If you are a man and need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, it is easy to bump your head. I hit my head after using the bathroom at night so bad it almost put me on the floor. It is probably the dumbest design and most dangerous heavy metal rack placement I have ever seen in a hotel. If this were in the US, they would have been sued for injuries by now and fixed it. The staff was very friendly. Parking was close and secure. They have a free safe in the room. I have to return to Guatemala often, but haven't decided if I would go back to this hotel without a helmut.…
great location, great price, great people Every time I stay in the hotel the attention is the same, a great one. The rooms are spacious, comfy and safe. The food is awesome and their green juice is epic.
