Great location, very comfortable hotel, friendly staff- especially Sandy at the front desk and Cinthia in the spa. Awesome pool area with nice areas to lounge. Breakfast buffet at The Market is outstanding.

Overpriced and underwhelming experience for an ihg top hotel. Breakfast said it was included on my reservation but I was charged $23 dollars. I’ve had better breakfasts for 5 bucks. Service and hospitality was meh. Maybe it was just me but I was treated with distain and judgement here. There was not a feeling of being welcomed here at all. I wanted to like it but overall my experience was not very good. The room was nice, also the area/location of the hotel is decent

Best hotel in Guatemala City! 5-star experience with a jacuzzi, pool, and incredible fantastic breakfast buffet with many varieties. (definitely, something to feed the hungry guests ) Like many of you, I like to work out. This hotel has a big gym with comprehensive weight sets and machines. The hotel is situated in Zone 10, it is in the middle of all the action. It is a short walk to Oakland Mall. There are some fantastic views of the skyline and mountains from many of the rooms. The rooms are clean and well-maintained and the beds are extremely comfy. The staff is also amazing and very knowledgeable. They were very eager to help me to make me feel like at home. I especially want to thank you for the nice, unexpected surprise that the hotel gave me on my birthday, ad make me feel special. I definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. They have 10/10 points from me. …

Great location -- 10 minutes from the airport, and considering the absolutely horrible traffic in Guatemala City we were truly grateful to be so close. And the buffet breakfast at The Market (the main dining venue for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus cocktails on Sundays when the Maya bar is closed) was excellent! And it offered a variety of Guatemalan foods on the buffet. Great way to try a variety of local dishes and still have familiar foods as a back up. Wait staff were extremely attentive. Breakfast started at 6:30 am and thanks to it being a buffet we were able to get in and out in time for our 7:00 am pick up for a tour. The rooms were large, the beds comfortable, the windows sound proofed (especially important because you're so close to the airport). There is no concierge to assist you, so you have to rely on finding an available front desk clerk. Often we found we'd have to wait 15+ minutes for people checking in or out. And the front desk was not very good at recommending anything more than "closest shopping mall with full range of restaurants." They offer a "dedicated" private taxi service for airport runs. We had arranged for pick up and it never came. Turned out fine -- after waiting 25 minutes for the "no show" we got a taxi for 1/2 the price. Arranged for a transfer TO the airport upon departure because at 5 am it was the most reliable option -- and the driver arrived 10 minutes early so we didn't have to worry. Overall we were pleased with our stay. Nice hotel in a great location -- within half a block of the Westin, Holiday Inn, etc etc. -- "the" place to be (Zone 10). Safe to walk around at night, etc. And, there's a great gift shop offering quality Guatemalan clothing, crafts, chocolate, etc.…

I spent two nights here on two separate occasions. Very enjoyable check-in at reception, both times by Margarita, who was absolutely stellar. Very personable, professional, and totally fluent in English for those of us who are Taco Bell qualified in Spanish. She ticked all the boxes for my Intercontinental Ambassador status during check in. Rooms were very nice; spacious and spotless. As others have pointed out, the beds and linens are amazingly comfortable. The breakfast buffet at The Market restaurant was a feast. Service here is top notch; servers are attentive but not intrusive. The only criticism I have is the unfortunate location of the hotel near a loud, and I mean loud club that blasts out high-decibel techno-boom "noise" (it can't be classified as music). It wasn't too bad my first night, thanks to Bose earphones, but the second night (different room) was just horrible, and lasted until 4:00 AM. Surely the city must have some modicum of a noise ordinance. …

Love, love, love this hotel! We opted to get the breakfast package with our room and it was worth the extra $15 for two. It was literally the best buffet breakfast I’ve had at a hotel in a long time. Our room was nice and clean. Only hiccup was the sink not draining properly but everything else was outstanding including the service. It’s in zone 10 which is super nice and safe in Guatemala City. We could get an Uber easily to travel else where in the city. Don’t miss the pool! It is nice and warm on the roof of the 5th floor. We will definitely always stay here when visiting Guatemala City.

Just stayed for one night, between flights, great location (lots of restaurants and bars around), but nice hotel! Everyone incredible friendly. Huge rooms, best bed I have ever slept in, huge bathroom - perfect hot shower. Good sushi dinner in restaurant downstairs. Gentleman sending us off in airport taxi was super pleasant.

My husband and I always stay at the Intercontinental Guatemala and it is always a pleasure! All the staff are SUPERB! Overall nice business hotel and excellent value in Guatemala City. Good area of the city. carpet & furniture had some stains, it is showing some age in the rooms. Pool was nice and very warm!! clean hotel, nice breakfast, good staff. No complaints other than it is getting a little bit worn. Will stay again, or try Westin.
