We had a 1 night-stay at this property after arriving from Antigua and departing to Flores. Traveled with my extended family of 10, where we had reserved 4 rooms. We were extremely happy with this property. The front desk was very professional. The restaurant and bar wait staff were very serviceful and kind. The service level overall was outstanding. The rooms were spacious and clean. Due to being a Platinum Elite member, the front desk had arranged for a charcuterie board to welcome us in our room. The pool was warm and well-kept. They had plenty of warm towels and staff came by several times to pick up and rearranged the seats that had been used. The only area for improvement would be the wait time for drinks and food that was ordered from pool side. The front desk also arranged for a large shuttle to transport us to the airport. The drive took 25 minutes due to traffic for 20 quetzals/person. There is a terrific bakery/restaurant across the street that is a must, San Martin. Would most definitely recommend this property when in Guatemala City.

Hotel Real Intercontinental, Guatemala

I had two stays in this hotel in March, 2021. Both were excellent stays with almost no problems
The positives.
1. Excellent/Super polite front desk. They were very helpful and extremely humble, extremely well trained.
2. Very nice room, good internet, good bed, good water pressure, hot water.
3. The hotel has a nice in-house restaurant. Had 2 meals, both meals were excellent.
4. The location of the hotel is excellent right next to “Fontbella mall” , a huge FEDEX office, about 3 minutes walk, where there are about 10 high end restaurants and Starbucks.
5. Complimentary water bottles provided in the room.
6. Complimentary early check in provided. Thank you!
7. Plug in point near bed to charge the cell phone.
8. The hotel is used by crew of Delta and United airlines.
Negatives
1. Only one. Though there was zero noise from street. One can hear people in the corridor and other doors opening/closing. If you are a light sleeper, request a corner room, ending with “01” or “24”.They have a surcharge, but are better located.
I highly recommend this hotel. This will be my first choice, for next trip to Guatemala city.

For the 5th time, the Intercontinental Real Guatemala was "home" to the medical mission team from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. We were greeted like family upon our return. The breakfast buffet was enjoyed by all before departing for a full day of surgeries at a local hospital. In the evenings, special treats were prepared by restaurant staff, such as Marcos from the Japanese eatery. In fact,all of the food and beverage servers made our late-evening return delicious and relaxing. Many thanks are due to Sergio, Bianca, Shakespeare and Adriana. The people at this hotel exemplify the warmth of Guatemala.

Overpriced and underwhelming experience for an ihg top hotel. Breakfast said it was included on my reservation but I was charged $23 dollars. I’ve had better breakfasts for 5 bucks. Service and hospitality was meh. Maybe it was just me but I was treated with distain and judgement here. There was not a feeling of being welcomed here at all. I wanted to like it but overall my experience was not very good. The room was nice, also the area/location of the hotel is decent

We have visited the place twice, once for Breakfast and the other for Brunch, Esvin and Lydia were in charge of it, the service was amazing, they were always paying attention to what we need, and we felt cared for. The options in food were also broad, which allowed you to find something you like on it, it includes fruits, ommeletes, cereals, bread, natural juices and obviously coffee. I would definetely comeback.

The Intercontinental has an incredible staff, from the front desk to the restaurant. Iris Morales is particularly attentive and very kind. The staff remember your name and make it feel like home. The hotel is in a great location, has great food, and a great pool/gym deck. The rooms are nice, but tired, especially the carpeting throughout the hotel, and the ht water was all over the place. The staff is respectful and offers help, but doesn’t follow through. Greater levels of training are needed and I believe are coming. Even with needed improvements, this is one of the best hotels in the city. I heard far worse stories from associates staying in other hotels.
The shining star here is the food and wait staff. Gourmet food from the Markets daily breakfast and late night dining to the Tanoshii sushi resteraunt. AMAZING!

In Guatemala City, location is key. The Real Intercontinental is in Zone 10, a great walkable neighborhood that is safe day and night. The hotel is surrounded by clubs and shopping. It is also a short (and cheap!) Uber ride to anywhere else in the city.
The hotel is beautiful and grand, both the public spaces and my room. The restaurant was delicious. A great breakfast buffet! I had maybe the best club sandwich I’ve ever had for lunch, plus a really delicious pizza for one of my dinners. Thank you, Jessica, for taking such good care of me at every meal!
My check-in was flawless. Kurt helped me out a lot with a speedy check-in, but also great suggestions to help me get oriented to the city. And the path was paved by Gabriela who was brilliant in her assistance with my reservation and arranging the greatest amenity I’ve ever had. Wow!

When I was there last month the club level / lounge was not operable. If you are a Platinum or higher you would be given breakfast at the restaurant.
Hello, I do apologize if nobody has answer your emails. We do offer the shuttle service, which is complimentary, and we can algo program a taxi for you, but it has an extra cost of US$15. Just let us know your airline, day and time of arrival as well as the amount of people coming. You can provide me that information to arrange your transportation.

Hello and I am so sorry I never received the message. They have ample space to transport and I know they start from the hotel at 5:00 am and last pickup is 11:00pm.
This fine hotel has a shuttle service which I've used too, they're open for checkin as far as I know 24hrs, but please check their website to be 100% sure.
