We are presently in roome No. 3 and unlucky us, we are here for 4 days! the bed is finished! we realised this early last night, and at 2 am we finally found covers in a closet that we put on the mattress, This helped us not not to feel the springs so much! This morning we asked Carla who... More

This was the 1st complaint we have received about the mattress in this room. Thus, it seems exaggerated. Nevertheless, the bed was changed with a new one during the guest's stay. It couldn't be done instantly but it was done as quickly as possible. Pending the arrival of the new bed there was an interim change mentioned by the guest... More

This hotel has a fantastic vibe to it with a large variety of different and interesting plants and flowers in the center. Also, there's a hot tub and a little gym in it. Pure water is supplied to each room so you don't get sick from the foreign bacteria. Overall, it's a great experience to stay at Posada Los Encuentros.

We appreciated Kurt's happiness with our place. Our medicinal plant garden is "tutorial" rather than commercial although we share our herbs with neighbors and guests who have kitchen area. Many medicinal plants are also culinary. Our gym is the best among hotels in Panajachel with free weights, a multi-station stack machine & cardio exercise machines. More

The photos are accurate; the place is immaculately clean and comfortable, but it is so much more that. Richard and his entire staff did an outstanding job ensuring that we were safe, comfortable and happy. The patio nestled in the lush gardens made a great setting for breakfast or dinner with friends, and the easy going manner of his staff... More

Yes, the place has some charm and the owner is knowledgeable about the Atitlán area and offers ideas for tours, but this B&B is a long walk out of town and takes you along a busy shopping street full of cars, tuk tuks, welding and carpentry workshops etc. A previous reviewer stated the walk was 5 to 10 mins, well... People walk at different speeds. Age & individual physical make-ups make a big difference. Some times of day are busier than others and Panajachel has few functioning sidewalks. Being in the center of town, noise & bustle, and price are value variables. The inexpensive 3-wheel tuc-tuc taxis are always an option for anyone reluctant to walk. More

Owner Richard Morgan takes pride in his Posada. He has decorated his place with local Mayan artwork, written books on Mayan culture, and has planted native medicinal herbs in his courtyard. We had the apartment with a full kitchen, dining area, and a bedroom for four (or more people.) The beds were very comfortable and the "double" bed was really... More

Gorgeous property with a lovely herbal garden. The owner Richard Morgan is extremely welcoming and full of very interesting information not only about the locality but also of the local culture. He organised a beautiful Mayan fire ceremony for us which was delightful. We accidentally left our laptop at the property and Richard very kindly organised for it to be... More

It's always a pleasure to serve guests who find our place along the line their interests. This is a case in point and a "win-win" situation. "Posada Los Encuentros" means "resting place of encounters." We take particular pride in introducing international travelers to Mayan culture and in helping people looking for a respite to rejuvenate spiritually/physically the right environment in... More

My 6 day stay here was wonderful! The 1 room studio had kitchen amenities, a TV with several American stations, was decorated with local art and textiles, modern and very clean; a limited continental breakfast is available if guests are interested. There were many indigenous flower and herb garden plots and a natural hot spring soaking tub. The owner is... More

"Los Encuentros" is all about connections. Don't come here looking to be served "hand & foot". Come to learn about yourself and the culture of Atitlan - and to renew/expand who you are and can be. More

We had a great long weekend in panajachel staying at Posada Los Encuentros. These guests were, like most, a great pleasure to accomodate. Our place is clearly best suited for guests who book with us because of our special features; our hotsoak tub, fitness center, medicinal plant garden, and direct access the Mayan culture. We offer a free "Continental breakfast," which is, in itself, quite healthy with fruit juice, milk, coffee, a variety of teas,... More

The location is a little far from the Panajachel's downtown, but that's not completely bad. The worst is the deception because we booked a room with sight to the lake and we could only saw de roofs around us. The posada is a 25-minute walk from the lake and the only good view of the lake is from our terrace, which offers a great view. It has never been our intention to mislead anyone on views.
