I know the family that run this hotel and you will be warmly welcomed and taken care of. Also very safe. German shepherds are guard dogs but no problem. They have recently converted anot her building on the site which has been done beautifully.
The hotel is just off the main street and really quite. The rooms are big and have some nice touches. There is a garden in the middle of the hotel and they have a friendly dog running around. Staff is really friendly and helpfull. You...More

My wife and I stayed here, travelling with a group of nursing students, last fall. The location is great, staff were friendly and helpful, and the accommodations were quite comfortable. The place has an out-of-the-way feel to it. We were able to walk to plenty...More

The rooms are very clean and comfortable. I appreciated being able to open fly screened windows for fresh air and each room has a nice little balcony. My only complaint was noise. The upstairs floor...More

The people at this hotel are very nice. If you would like the dogs put somewhere else, I'm sure they would respect that. I even forgot that they had dogs until you mentioned it. They were no problem for me, but if they were, I'm sure the staff would do whatever they could to make your stay there comfortable. I hope you don't miss a nice place to stay. I do recommend you ask for an upper room with a balcony. I can't remember my room number but the porch was lovely and so was my stay there. The most comfortable bed I had in Guatamala.

Are you departing from the airport? If so, you can get a shuttle to either Antigua or Panajachel there. Once you leave Customs, the shuttle booth is to your left before you leave the terminal. A shuttle to Antigua usually costs $8-$12.
I am guessing that one to Pana is maybe double that price. I usually got from Antigua to Pana. A shuttle from there is usually $7.
Hope this helps?
My favorite place to stay in Pana is Hotel Utz Hay. My favorite restaurant is Guajimbo;s Uruguayan Grill.
