This is still my favorite hotel in town and I always try to stay here. I like its reasonable price and location, but I love the vibe and beautiful landscaping. It is so calm and peaceful here. We stayed in a new room and it was beautiful: huge bathroom and great balcony. Will I be back? Si!

We have stayed at Utz Jay several times, but have never written a review. They are in the process of updating some of the rooms, adding more, and adding a new laundry room. We have been in three different rooms on different trips, and all were nice enough for a good price. As others have said, they do have some...

We had a triple room here, next to the reception. Nice two story room, good beds, even tv, and good shower! Breakfast was good, the free coffee a plus. Maybe the reception service was not so personal, but for the rest, a good choice.

We stayed here for just one night before heading to Santiago. We had four different rooms and each was much different from the others. Some had sitting rooms.. refrigerator..porches.. All of the rooms surround a lovely garden. We enjoyed our stay here but we did have some ant visitors in a couple of the rooms.

Utz jay is a comfortable hotel with unique rooms that will make you feel like in a Gutemaly-Swedish cabin. The garden is the best thing about the hotel- gorgeous and spacious. In addition, every room has it's own little porch to sit in. The only con I have is that they charge for breakfast, use age if the phone, and...

This place is great. Cable TV in the huge rooms (we had a “superior room” with a private balcony). Screens in the windows, huge shower, helpful staff, floor fan in the room, delicious breakfast in the on-grounds restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were super clean. One block off the main street in Pana. If you are looking for hotels,...

Each time I am in Pana, I always stay here. I love the garden and the different rooms and casitas. Its spa and jacuzzi are relaxing. Marie Lissette, the owner, is very nice and helpful. She helped us book a boat ride around the lake. The big dogs are very friendly. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The continental...

The hotel is a peaceful refuge from the bustle of Panajachel. We enjoyed having morning coffee in the garden. The restaurant serves a nice breakfast. The rooms were clean and attractive. The owner and all the staff were very helpful, answering questions about the town, where to eat, how to take a launch across the lake, etc. And the price...

I've been to Pana several times and have never been as pleased as I was at the Utz Jay. This hotel and the San Bartolome in Xela were our favorites during our trip. The location is great -- about 2 blocks from the lake and 1/2 block from the main street on a peaceful side street. The three rooms our...
