I stayed at the Posada de Santiago with a group of colleagues working for a nonprofit in the area. Our accomodations, meals and hospitality service were outstanding. The location facing the lake is magical. We are planning to return next year with our families. Dave rocks!!

Lovely accommodations with incredible views of Lake Atitlan and surrounding volcanos. Rooms are clean and comfortable, some are private cottages. The restaurant is warm and intimate with fabulous food. Service there was a tad slow, but everything appeared to be cooked to order, explaining the wait. Staff was very friendly and most accommodating, arranging tours of coffee plantation, hike to...

Just got back after 9 days in Guatemala over Christmas. First 2 nights in Antigua and the last 6 nights at Posada de Santiago. Guatemala is not for everyone, thank goodness. If you want to lounge on a beach and complain about service, food, noise, roads..., do not go to Guatemela. If different cultures make you nervous, stay at an...

Adventure agency Via Venture and Mt Sobek booked for us a 3-day stay. Love the quality food, the location and quiet. Picturesque in the mornings. Refreshingly cool, too. Did treks at Indian Nose and visits to nearby San Juan La Laguna. Massages were great in the dedicated room.

Based on trip advisor reviews (and some guide books) we choose this property for a 4 night stay. It was lovely. Kind, helpful people, good food in the restaurant, a short walk from town and a beautiful property. Some people might be bothered that the internet is turned off from 6:30-8 p.m. for the dinner hour, but I thought that...

I just spent 5 days at Posada de Santiago. I chose Santiago as it is the largest population of indigenous people and very few tourist and expats compared to other places. The Posada is a 5 minute walk from town and it is a little lush paradise. The staff works really hard to maintain the property. There are so many...

This is the best kept secret at Lake Atitlan. You may have to cross the lake from Panachel to get there, but that in itself is part of the charm of going. You can also drive around the lake to Santiago. However, taking a boat is awesome as you cross the waters surrounded by three volcanos. Once you get there,...

I love staying here. The cottages, food and drinks are consistently wonderful, but the best part is always the hospitality at the Posada. They have recently added a lakeside bar to complement the jacuzzi & pool, which are already amazing by themselves. I highly recommend crossing the lake to get away from the touristic scene. On a cultural note, do...

A lot of time and care has gone into making every aspect of your experience staying at Posada de Santiago great. The grounds are lush, green, and full of flowers. Every direction you look is just beautiful, whether you're coming down the drive or sitting in the jacuzzi staring at Volcan San Pedro. Our bedroom was clean and quaint, and...

Food was awesome ! Different and healthy meal every night as well as breakfast! Staff was very friendly and helpful! Beautiful grounds as well. Will warn you that WIFI goes off from 630 to 830 every evening ! For some this can be frustrating , but I have to admit it was a breath of fresh air as you forced...
