Located about a ten minute drive from the Rio Dulce port it looked a decent enough option. And it was if you count in the picture perfect setting on Lake Izabel and the very accommodating restaurant staff. We stayed a night as a couple and were given a twin room with two beds both a size down from a double....

Lovely clean pools, our lake view suite was clean and quiet. Showers have short term hot water, so be quick. The restaurant has a good selection of meals, friendly staff; be sure to ask for a medium steak if you want rare, asking for rare will result in blue rare. Ask for a boat to playa Blanca if you want...

We traveled to Rio Dulce with the family for New Year's Eve. We enjoyed our stay at this property very much. The facilities were nice and well maintained; the decks and pools were great (a shallow one for kids and a deeper one for grown ups); the restaurant was comfortable and the food was good; the attention was excellent, including...

Staying in the off season it was just us and another couple. The have duplex style bungalow rooms, that have so much space. The air con was freezing cold which was great for all the humidity, it is right on Lake Izabel and you have great views from the jetty. We got to watch the sunrise which was beautiful. The...

The infrastructure of the hotel is really nice, have many paid amenities such as tours in the lake/river, waverunners, etc. The food is great a little bit expensive but great; the rooms are pretty nice.

After staying at a lot of relatively expensive hotels that were mediocre at best, it was a real treat to stay at the Banana Palms. As some of the other reviews have stated, the rooms are relatively plain and unadorned. There were no light fixtures on the lights. My wife and I had to sleep separately as the 2 double...

Banana Palms was one of the best hotels in the area for a great price! The view of the lake, the pools, the food in the restaurant, and rooms (with ac) were awesome. They even had a playground for the kids and a dock where we took our boat ride through Rio Dulce to Livingston. On our boat ride we...

Nice and clean! Good price for the rooms. I think is one of the best in the area. It has 2 helipads and a dock just in case you want to come by air or sea. They offer all kinds of lake rides and water sports. Plus two nice and clean pools if you dont like to swim in the...
