Stayed for a couple of nights. The dorm room is spacious with its own bathroom. The room comes with breakfast from their restaurant menu. Has hot shower which is needed since its gets chilly here esp at night. The staff is friendly and helpful. the bed is comfy. Location is ideal, walking distance to all must do's and see's

The hostel is located very central. The staff was very kind and well informed. The hostel by itself is a little bit "dark". Breakfast was great and due we left at 8a.m. they prepared our breakfast earlier (we asked the day before).

I stay at the Black Cat Xela a couple of times per year. I'm older than the typical backpacker but the Black Cat has a single room with bath which I like. Other private rooms are with shared bath which is OK because there are ample bathrooms. If I am in the shared bath rooms on the second floor I...

Very nice place to stay in xela. Great location near the central park. Nice, clean facility. It felt safe with security at night and lockers in dorms. Free breakfast was awesome, with several options to order from. The staff was helpful and friendly. They held my bags for 6 days while I did a trek.

Absolutely loved it. Only planned on staying at couple days and I stayed a week. The women running it were so helpful and so nice. The breakfast was better than most breakfasts I get at home! The coffee was great, the rooms were great, the shower upstairs was so hot and powerful. Great location a block from the bars and...

We stayed there only 1 night. There was nothing to do in xela, ugly city. Hostel was pretty okey. But in the dorm 10 bunk beds very close to each other! Little space for your backpack. Bed linen were super old , with wholes in it. In the night was freezing but receptionist offered extra blankets. Bathroom was a bit...

Hostel atmosphere is very nice. Friendly staff. They went out of their way to prepare our breakfast whenever we needed to leave early to go on a tour, which was really nice. Rooms are clean. We slept in the dorm room next to the restaurant so we were sometimes disturbed during our sleep by light and noise. My matrass was...

Black Cat is an excellent hostel. The rooms are very clean as well as the living and eating areas. The showers are warm which are nice on a cold rainy day. The staff are friendly and helped organise our day to the Georgina's Hot Springs. The best part though is the included breakfast in the morning where you get to...

If you're looking for a great hostel in Xela - with spectacular breakfast options (included in the price) - the Black Cat is where it's at! Friendly staff, an open kitchen, and piping hot showers all top it off - and speedy internet, too!
