First the greats: great hospitality by owner and staff, nice swimming in lake, DELICIOUS marinated pork chops and chicken for dinner, best salad in Central America, good breakfast, great margaritas and frozen drinks! Rooms are large and ok, like so many places in the region, there is no a/c in the rooms so expect a few critters. But I love...

Stayed here on a G Adventures group tour. This is quite a lovely hotel in a small town. The location on the lakeside is really pleasant. Swimming in the lake from the hotel lawn was great and it is nice warm water. The hotel also has a couple of basic kayaks you can take out whenever you want. To swim...

Stayed here as part of a G Adventures tour. Beautiful grounds, delicious margaritas, large clean room, and I got to go kayaking on the lake. The only downside was the plumbing - the shower was equivalent to someone spitting on you, and the toilet would only flush once every few hours.

Hi, Thank you again for your review. Yes, water pressure is an issue with the local town water source. San Jose, is very small and has a very low budget local government. Sometimes, they run out of petrol for the town water pump, and we loose water pressure. Our emergency tanks work perfectly though, Yet the pressure is sacrificed when...

Lovely location on Lake Petzen Itza and nicely appointed rooms. Well stocked bar and food is available if you give them some notice. Some minor issues (shortage of hot water and we had an ant infestation in our room). We also felt bar and laundry prices were very high even for a "hotel". E.g. $15 for laundry which costs $3-5...

Hi, and thank you for your review. Yes, when town water fails to provide us with service. We run on our emergency tanks, they work perfect, yet when we have 8 to 10 showers going off a the same time, the tanks cant keep the regular pressure. San Jose is a very small low budget local government, so sometimes they...

We couldn't of picked a better place to relax. The owner and his family are absolutely wonderful and help you with everything that you need. Because we spoke no Spanish this was a great place for us. Maurico helped us with our tour and travel plans and offered us rides to town whenever he was going. This is a 20...

It's a very recommendable hotel. It is placed at the small village of San Jose, about 30 minutes from Flores. It is a relaxing place with very cousy rooms, a huge grass where the children can play and the adults relax and a lovely family as a hosts. Mauricio and Irene treated me like one more in their family and...

Located directly on lake Peten Itza this quiet resort has a dining room for breakfast and dinner if you should so choose. It is within walking and tuk-tuk distance of the town of San Jose from which you can catch a bus or shared twenty-minute shuttle to Santa Elena and then tuk-tuk to Flores. Be sure to take a boat...

This hotel is nicer than it appeared on the website. It is a small, budget friendly hotel, located right on the lake just outside of San Pedro. It is quiet and has lovely, tropical landscaped grounds. Hummingbirds, butterflies and tropical flowers were all around, and the friendly staff completed the welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are clean and tidy, and simple....

Found this on tripadvisor when planning our holiday - evryone seems to stay in Flores - thankfully we did not! This hotel is run by a very enthousiastic owner, has travelled lots himself and makes a mean large margarita! Only 8 rooms, we were the only guests so very quiet and he upgraded us to the larger room. Great views...
