Palmetto Bay Plantation is a great place to stay in Roatan. It is in the middle of the Island, not on the West End where most of the action is. If you want secluded beaches - you got it at Palmetto Bay Plantation. Choose this location if you want to chill out - it is very peaceful. The sand flies... More

We just returned from a week at the Palmetto Bay Plantation. We were there with a very large group for a wedding. The resort property and the villas were beautiful. Resort The resort is hidden away from the crowds. We were completely happy with the property. The place is well maintained. The beach is clean and stretches on for miles.... More

Last month, me, my fiance and 26 of my family members and friends took a trip to Roatan Honduras. We were set to get married. The Plantation is jaw-droppingly gorgeous. The best way to visualize how nice this place looked is to compare it to a Corona beer commerical (Which we took some pictures with Corona). Everything went 100% perfect,... More

While everybody in our rather large party (51) had a special experience, the six of us sharing villa A-1 were uniquely blessed. The view and the breezes were exceptional, and there was no need for air conditioning, just the floor fans to provide good sleeping temperatures. The front portico became a natural gathering place anytime during daytime and evening hours,... More

My wife and I had a last-minute chance to spend a few days on Roatan Island, in the Caribbean, off the coast of Honduras. We chose the Palmetto Bay Plantation for this, purely on the basis of ads and comments in various travel magazines and guide-books, as it seemed to be off the beaten track and to have a relatively... What a great place to go! Very Remote resort, away from all the Tourist spots, close enough to get to though. We encountered some travel issues, however the staff at Palmetto Bay Plantation were great, very informative and knowledgable of the Island. The food and drinks were excellent at the restaurant! We had a beautiful clean home to stay in,... More

Just returned from PBP, spending 8 days. The place is very close to perfect, BUT and IF... IF...the weather co-operates, this place is idyllic. Geourgeous, fantastic people, friendly staff, nice guests (this is an issue b/c you will end up spending a lot of time with them). On-site owner is a very nice guy with a lovely 3 y/o daughter,... My husband and I paid for a week at Palmetto recently when we could have stayed in our high-end condo at no charge. We had visited Palmetto several years ago, after investing elsewhere on up-and-coming Roatan, and we returned to Palmetto in January 2008 because we remembered the place as special. Nothing disappointed. We like the very idea of Palmetto.... More

I have just recently returned from a 1 week vacation in Roatan. Having been to Roatan once before and stayed in West End, this time I chose Palmetto Bay Plantation as my destination due to its charm, pristine beach, and all the lushness and tranquility of nature that you do not find in the tourist-filled West End and West Bay.... We stayed at this wonderful resort for just one week and found it to be one of the greatest experiences ever. Having been to several Caribbean islands, I would say it rivals Palm Island for splendid seclusion, but much easier to get to. Like PI, the accomodations are free standing Balinese style villas that provide simple luxury and quiet. We... More

“There are limited beachfront villas for rent, so figure out if that is important to you. Most are very close to the beach and restaurant just not "beachfront". Not all have A/C in the bedrooms, although it was ok without A/C, decide if this is important to you and make sure they know you need one with A/C. Favorites were B4 (not beachfront), Coconut Grove, and Casa Sunburst.”
