Spent a week, Feb 3-10, at Utila Lodge with my sister and my son. Not sure the trip could have been better. The place is small and cozy, Marley, Queen Bee, Sean Mac and the ENTIRE STAFF did anything and everything within their control to...More
I had generally a great time at this hotel\resort, food and drinks were good and room was really cozy. Overall I think it was good little resort with lots to do and great for scuba diving. Needs more pepsi.

I'm doing this review after the passing of almost a year so i don't recall names of staff to pass on to you. There were no "bad" staff to warn you about so it shouldn't matter. Everyone at Utila Lodge was very helpful and friendly...More
I stayed at Utila Lodge for a week with my son in early January for a dive trip with the Bay Islands College of Diving. It was just about perfect. The Staff is wonderful, from Marley the Manager to Sean Mac, Queenie and the rest....More

Hey John, the instructors here are great! This would be a perfect option for a refresher and the dive sites here are varied so there's always opportunity to practice improving your buoyancy etc. I'd recommend taking the advanced open water course if you're looking to dramatically improve your diving and get the most for your money.

Sorry to take so long to answer your question! Utila Lodge is a scuba diving "resort". Probably wouldn't recommend for kids or grandkids who don't dive. I, myself don't dive, but my husband does - I like to sunbathe - no pool or beach at this location, so was hard to do that. The nice thing though about the island of Utila is that you can walk around the whole island - it isn't very large. The lodge itself is kept clean, meals are buffet style and food is good!
