They have pizza night and also barbecue night - Located in a "hostel" where scuba instructors stay when they come to get certified or just divers in general. Really friendly atmosphere, good service and great food. Simple, but great. On BBQ night I ordered the fish and it was delicious. Super laid back atmosphere, nice crowd, full bar.

My husband and I found this place when we were walking around Utila one day and after talking to the management, decided to leave the place we were staying to come here. For $45/night we got a room with A/C. The view from the room was so beautiful! They have a restaurant on-site (we didn't try it, but the specials...

Great place, friendly people, good food, and welcoming vibe. Only thing stopping its getting an extra star was the kitchen (which needs some serious utensils and plates -- maybe a $15 investment!) and the very poor internet connection. (I was unsure why it was so, so poor, as neighboring businesses had connections working great!) If one doesn't care about cooking...

We stayed here for four nights as we were diving with underwater vision. Right from the start when I emailed to book Tamara (the manager) was very helpful and we were booked in easily. We also had a mix up with our shuttle so arrived a day late, I emailed Tamara to tell her and again this was not problem...

We had a great stay at Trudy's Hotel. The diving staff was really friendly and helpful with everything. All dives were well organized and any problems were solved. The food of the restaurant was great and they also arranged that we were able to eat before the morning dives. The dorms are really like normal dorms, nothing special, but at...

Great location for Scuba Diving, good service and cooking. You just feel at home. Early service prior to scuba, good team and leader ("Cooky"). Always enhance personal safety first, takes it time to all OP Diving. This was my first time and nothing to regret.

I ate there several times loved the breakfast and dinner meals I had at Trudy's. In terms of drinks they don't do anything fancy. They have a movie night one night a week I think. I was there for one of the movie nights. What I liked most about Trudy's was the mixture of local residents with the tourist (mostly...

Trudy's is probably one of the better places, but it is noisy, and full of younger backpackers from all over the world. If you an an older adult and want the more relaxed atmosphere, Utila is probably not for you. If you want to party most of the night, get up early and dive, then this might be your thing....

During my stay, Trudy's was rather strictly only accepting guests who were also diving with Underwater Vision. But that's why I was there, so it's all good. I ended up paying for a handful of additional nights beyond the ones included with my diving packages. The hotel features both private rooms (relatively luxurious. I did not stay in one) and...

I have stayed at Hotel Trudy on 3 different occasions and the team is very welcoming and accomodating. The bar/kitchen is excellent and the amenities are great. Plan to stay for a weekend and learn why you will never EVER leave.
