We booked a private room with bathroom. It was clean and the first two nights we had warm water. The last night the water was cold. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The taxi they book for you is more expensive than when you'll arrange it by yourself. But if you arrive after dark, it's nice to have someone...

We had booked 2 dorm beds in advance online. We turned up with 2 other people and they had overbooked, so we waited 30 minutes for them to get another room ready. This room turned out to be 4 mattresses on a floor in a room. The mattresses were very close together with no space in between. We had to...

The reason why I write this review is this: In the morning (5:30am) I was waiting for my taxi to the busport which I ordered the day before. As it didn't show up, the guy in charge did everything possible to get me there, what ment, that he called every taxi company and even the bus company several times (in...

Hostal is o.k., acceptably clean, located in a very quiet and probably safe area - but still in walking distance to the city center, very helpful staff (arranges Taxis to the airport or wherever, give information about the city, good restaurants, etc.), free Internet, very popular with backpackers and good to meet other travellers stayed there just one night

>I been here for less than 12 hours and both taxis arranged by the hostel have charged me more than quoted. From airport was quoted at 15 and I was charged 25. Then a 20L cab this morning was changed en route to be 60L. It´s not the extra dollar, its the principle. Especially coming from a taxi set up...

My husband and I stayed here for a night while we were enroute to La Ceiba. We had a private room ensuite with AC. The bathroom wasn't very clean and the drain in the shower needed to be plunged; it continued to fill as I showered until I was standing ankle deep in water- yuck! The AC barely worked, we...

My friend and I stayed here as a "layover" on our way to La Ceiba. You definitely get what you pay for. The $11 price for a nights stay is quite attractive but of course you sacrifice quality. The girl downstairs when you come in did not seem very happy to be there and barely said a word to us...

My stay at the Tamarindo, in itself, was a pleasant experience. The eight-person dorm room was clean, neat, relatively quiet, and very reasonably priced (at roughly $11 per night) for a solo traveler. Although the building is not near anything special in the city, the hostel is secure and the staff is friendly. There is a decent market nearby. Unfortunately,...
