We have owned here for about 20 yrs. The building is a bit dated but the bones are solid. We love the very large heated pool right on the beach. The kitchen is small but good for breakfast and the fridge and microwave is all we need (As a couple) to handle small meals between using the Snack Bar/Grill near the pool. You also have a griddle, you can ask for a hot plate, and they have gas grill outside. We bring a small Keurig machine for in room coffee. The staff here is consistently great! From Joy, Mila and others at The Grill, the front desk, the team working the pool supplies, the valet guys that help you unload but right now cant really valet your car. They meet you with a smile and work hard to help you with gear any way they can. Its a fun family place to vacation. In winter its a great place to whale watch when your not in the pool or out to see the sights. Nature has returned much of the sand that was washed out by surf a few years ago, so people can enjoy the beach again. Fun to watch the wind surfers and others that know what they are doing. People have commented on the timeshare staff. They have a job and everyone knows how that works. Don't let that hinder your vacation unless you really want that cash at the end. No such thing as a free dinner cruise or Luau. We bought 20 yrs ago and learned how to use the system and really enjoy it. Enjoy your planning and trip to Hawaii…
To Diamond Resorts management, Don't give us buyer's remorse by presenting to us that the "term" membership we purchased and paid in full is an "inferior" product and each salesperson is a separate entity that the current salesperson is the savior to rectify all the shortcomings of the previous. You're all on the same team! Don't use elementary sales tactics like , "my manager will lose money on this deal if..." or "I'm not suppose to offer this coupon, but I really want to help you out" . -Build a relationship with the customer first. A real on, not a fake one built on fake compliments. 1 compliment is ok, the second one gets weird, the third one, you're being fake. Authenticity is key. More training. - Listen to your customers to understand their needs, not to find a gap to a rehearsed sales pitch. -Recommend based on those needs. It's ok if you don't sell anything that day. Their experience could get you a referral because you were honest and just plain cool to deal with. …
Been Here many times but this is first time in winter months. Lots of whales passing by and weather is a little cooler than summer months. Kaanapali Beach Club is great place to stay and enjoy Maui in the winter months
The front desk ruined our honeymoon experience. They locked me out of my room a lot allow me back into the room with wearing my wedding band, it was under my maiden name. I had to walk to another hotel in the rain to get them to notice me and let me back in my room. It was a nightmare. The only good thing about this hotel or the rooms concierge and pool. Lots of kids. This is more of a family escape not a couples retreat. I would only return if they rehired their front desk.
This is paradise!! There is a large pool along the beach, a bar with an ocean view, kids activity center and mini golf. Family friendly, barbecues with all the utensils, laundry rooms on every floor and spacious rooms with all the amenities we need. We are watching the whales from our lanai.
