We found it by chance and it was a great surprise for us. We planned to stay one night, and ended up staying three. The breakfast is great, the riad very clean and quiet, the staff is very helpful, and Steve is a great host. Whithin that budget, we absolutly recommend it.

Just returned home from a fantastic week away in Fes. Dar Houdou was a welcoming and comfortable environment. Steve was an excellent host and very knowledgeable about the local area. Breakfast was first class with fresh breads and pancakes each day and fresh orange. The house is very clean and comfortable and maintained to a high standard by Steve's staff;...

Back in Fez again and I can report that the Dar Houdou continues to offer great value. As I've mentioned before it is ideally situated for exploring the Medina and , if you need them , tours, guides and taxis can all be easily arranged . There are many up- market "palais et spas " appearing but the Dar Houdou...

This is a great little guesthouse in Fes medina. Perfect location and perfect hosts - Steve and Mohammed are both very helpful. Brilliant breakfast in the morning, and electric blankets! Couldn't really have asked for anything else.

During my recent three week visit to Fes, i slept in eleven different riads and dars. Dar Houdou was one of the top experiences. Its location is amazing - just off the Talaa Saghira, one of the main arteries of the Fes Medina and literally steps away from the famous Bou Inania medresa. Easy to find, except that on the...

This year my sister and I stayed at this beautifully renovated riad during The Sacred Music Festival. What a treat. The perfect base , so convenient for music venues, restaurants , shopping , taxis , places of interest. The taxi was prearranged from the airport a definite plus . We received a warm welcome . Breakfast was more varied than...

We spent four nights at Riad Dar Houdou during our recent trip to Fes. Great location -- close to the Medressa and five minutes walk to the Bab Boujloud (Blue Gate). We stayed in one of the rooms in the first floor (there are only three rooms in this riad) which was nice, sunny and quite with a large window....

“The rooms are a bit tight for three (they add a mattress on the floor), for two are more than good. We travel during Ramadan, which is why the quality of the sleep is influenced by the different pace of life that lead the Muslims during that period, at the same time very interesting.”
