We were unsure where to stay, a 4/5 star hotel or a riad. Researching via trip advisor we found the Porte Rouge. We were not disappointed, thank you trip advisor! Karen arranged a transfer from the airport, a 20 min experience! Arriving around 9.30pm we were greeted by friendly staff who immediately made us welcome with hot sweet Moroccan tea...

If you're trying to decide between a Riad or a hotel, opt for the former. If you're thinking 'new town or medina', why? Give yourself the authentic Marrakech experience to get the best out of this incredible city. In return, you'll be treated with the upmost hospitality - certainly at Riad La Porte Rouge. From the moment we arrived it...

My boyfriend and I had a delightful 4 night stay at this riad. The staff are very friendly and super-helpful, nothing is too big or small for them and they went out their way to make us feel at home. Special thanks to Karen, Sayid and Mustafa who made our stay both comfortable and welcoming. Tucked away from the noisy...

As soon as we got to the riad they took our suitcases and gave us mint tea and yummy Moroccan pastries to welcome us. Youseff gave us a map to help us navigate our way to the bustling main square. The riad is tucked away down an alley in a residential area just inside the medina walls. At first we...

We cannot recommend this riad highly enough. Not only is it absolutely beautiful, you have an instant feeling of cool and calm when you walk through the door. You would never believe all the hustle and bustle going on a couple of alleyways away! It's situated right by the palace, about 15 minutes walk away (if you don't get distracted...

Recently stayed here with mum and sister. It was all our first time in Marrakesh and straight away they helped us with everything we needed to know. The Riad was beautiful and great place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh. The food was amazing from the breakfast to the wonderful tagines which were the best we...

Don't be put off by the unusual lead up to the door, once you go through the door it's like a magical place. The beautiful smells, authentic décor and welcoming staff were much more than we had expected. It soon felt like home. The food was really good quality and tasty. The bedroom was gorgeous, decorated in orange colours. Breakfast...

Riad La Porte Rouge is down a little alleyway off a busy road and looks rather inconspicuous from the outside but once inside the Riad opens up and you are filled with a sense of calm opposed to the busyness of life outside. Our host Karen was very welcoming and we were given complimentary Moroccan tea and a selection of...

Riad La Porte Rouge was such a beautiful and welcoming place to stay. Everything about it exceeded expectations and felt like a second home. Our transfer was waiting for us upon arrival at the airport (albeit 2 hours delayed!) and we were greeted with a warming smile, incense, mint tea & pastries and a run down of things to do...

We stayed at La Porte Rouge Riad from Fri 29 March - Wed 3 April and it exceeded all expectations. From initial contact via email Karen was very, very, helpful. I found it by going through all the TripAdvisor reviews & finding something within our tight budget! We arranged a transfer with Karen (she offered this to us for free)...
