My third visit to Marrakech this year staying in the most superb Riad Emberiza Sahari. I adore Marrakech and staying in this divine Riad is just the ticket. From the warm welcome, mint tea and sweet delicacies on arrival, to the magnificent French, Moroccan and stunning eclectic decor, the bedroom suites, each one beautifully decorated, this Riad is an oasis in the heart of the Médina. Cocktails on the rooftop with panoramic views to the Atlas Mountains, watching the sunset. It’s a very hard place to leave. But I know I’ll be back....that helps. Thank you Alexandra and your lovely staff for another perfect stay...✨✨✨
This experience was very memorable. The owner, Alexandra and her staff are extremely friendly and you feel like you are are in a beautiful home. The chef is also amazing... my dinner here was better than the top rated restaurants in the Médina! Overall, I highly recommend this Riad and will definitely be back soon!
We would endorse all the recent positive reviews of this wonderful Riad and its delightful and very hands on owner, Alexandra. The location of the Riad is within the Medina but has car access very close for luggage drop offs and taxis, and with easy walking access to all the sights of the Medina. Also only about a 25 minute interesting walk from the Majorelle Gardens in the New city, with the help of Herewego, an offline app relying on GPS. The Riad itself is a secure, luxurious and peaceful oasis, with beautifully appointed rooms and a credit to Alexandra who undertook the renovations. (Ask her to see her photos of before & after.) The only outside noise is from the nearby mosque and its call to prayer. We stayed in the Maria Sahara room upstairs which had a lovely view into the courtyard below. Room and ensuite bathroom were good sizes and very comfortable. Room has a small lockable fixed safety box. There are also several lovely areas to sit, relax & enjoy a drink - on the roof top terrace, your own small terrace or in the courtyard. Breakfast, set up in the courtyard, was fabulous and the staff were so friendly and accommodating to provide snacks or beautifully set dinners as required. Alexandra, a fellow Australian, was extremely welcoming and so knowledgeable and helpful in providing tips for generally getting about, and booking if required, restaurants, tours, activities, hire cars to the airport & using taxis. She pre-booked us a private half day tour for Day 1 which gave us our bearings and confidence to return to the Medina and other areas on our own for the next few days, as well as being informative and taking us to several landmarks in & around the Medina. We can also thoroughly recommend Restaurant 61 (also owned by a lovely Australian lady) in the new city (easily accessible by taxi) for a break from traditional tagines. Casual, friendly and delicious meals. Thanks again Alexandra for a fabulous stay and experiences in Marrakech!…
I recently stayed at Riad Emberiza with a friend for three nights, absolutely loved the place, it is so tranquil you wouldn’t even know it’s in the medina once you step inside. Beautifully decorated with a stunning pool area with fruit trees and a cosy sitting room with indoor fire place for the cooler evenings. We loved coming home to Riad Emberiza after a long day in the bustling and hectic souks. We also took up the host’s offer to make dinner for us one evening, 3 courses for a very reasonable 300 Dirhams and it was so delicious, would highly recommend especially for couples as it is served in the candle lit pool area. There is also a gorgeous rooftop with views across the Medina. Our room was lovely, the Riad is decorated with antique furnishings and feels a bit like your very own palace. It’s a ten minute walk to the start of the souks so ideal location in order to dip in and out but not feel overwhelmed. The only watch out is there is a mosque immediately next door so the 5.30am call to prayer can wake you (but this is true in many of the central Riads), some ear plugs may come in handy! We also found our room had frosted glass but no blinds/curtains (again in keeping with the traditional Riad style we assumed) so it can get light quite early, maybe worth a sleep mask too! …
Just the very best experience in an up and coming part of Marrakech. Very easy to get Taxi's and you really do feel like you are going local rather than being with tourists. Excellent choice of quality restaurants close by.
"Higher rooms look over the courtyard. Maria Sahara is a little more private as no-one needs to walk past it to access their room."Read full review
"The above questions are misleading as Riads are internal facing places. The view from the terrace however is fabulous."Read full review
