i stayed at econo for a week , my check in was accurate, I enjoyed my stay, I had no problems whatsoever , the service they provide for the price they charge is fair, I would recommend anyone who is looking for a cheap lodge in town

If you are a backpacker, on a VERY tight budget and don't mind a few cockroaches here and there, then this place is for you. I stayed at Econo Lodge, twice, both one night each as a quick stopover trip in Dar es Salaam. When we got into our room we were greeted with a bed, a few cockroaches, a...

we were here for a few hours between our ferry from Zanzibar and our flight back home. It was the perfect place to say as it was inexpensive (38,000 shillings for a double at the time) and clean. Yes, the room is very basic and has old furniture, but it doesn't claim to be the Hilton. For what we needed,...

Dar is one expensive place, and finding a cheap place close to the city center is not easy. This one is one of the few, its not a beautiful place but its a safe place where you either go to sleep or leave your stuff for doing day trips. Try to book before you arrive just to make sure. Its...

In a good location this is a basic but clean accommodation - there are many rooms so you're likely to find a place. One of the worst breakfasts I've had during my one-trip in Tanzania, but cheap options available around so it's not a problem. Highly recommended for people on budget.

Arriving in Dar es Salaam after a 2.5 day train ride from Zambia late at night with no airtime or data left due to the delays on the train meant we could not book in any hotel. We arrived at 23:55 and were immediately swarmed by taxi drivers. We picked the smallest guy of course just in case any problems...

Simple and basic accommodation, very convenient for those who come from the Zanzibar ferry and wish to stay in that area (Kisutu bus station is nearby). The hotel surroundings are quite noisy and shady, but that is ok if you're just spending one or two nights there. Rooms are basic and unappealing, but clean. Wi-fi works only at the lobby.

Good budget option in dar. Good location, very spacious room with small balcony, nice lobby space. Hot water worked, good fan. Wi-Fi in lobby only but worked throughout our stay. Sheets and towels ok. Twin beds only. Toast, fruit and coffee included, nothing additional available.

They only take cash, like a lot of places here. I paid for my room when I arrived, but was told that I did not & forced to pay again when I checked out. They actually locked me in the lobby to make sure I paid a second time. From the way the whole thing went down, I believe they...
