My first visit was in 1991, while I was working at Nairobi. In my recent visit I found they have updated better; renovations were done in good length, looks great these days. Floor, linen, walls, beautification looks good. September - January period is the best climate to move around. One can travel to natural forests and wild animal areas conveniently,...

Except for a good location, I didn't find anything good about this hotel. We changed the location in the next night, and for the same amount we found a decent hotel. The rooms were dirty and there was a terrible smell from the bathroom. The stuff was friendly, still not a good enough reason to go there again.

It looks like everybody who works at this hotel is unhappy and mad at something. Maybe it's because they don't like backpackers? The location is close to the Zanzibar ferry, no taxi needed. The rooms have air conditioning and we payed 50 dollars for a double room. After all unfortunately not worth the money!

The porter Joesph was really friendly and helpful. The restaurant food is not very good we got room service and twice we asked for our change which should have been 4,500 TSH and the lady never brought it up. Power went out for 7 hours during the day. Only 1 channel works on the t.v. Costs 50 US a night

Back from Arusha, we tried to catch the ferry in the same day, but was impossible. So we choose this hotel despite the price quite high - 60 usd/night. At least we received a realy nice, clean room, with AC and TV, restaurant and internet free. And is very close to the ferry port. We ate pastas and was good...
