A stay at the Serena is always relaxing. Even though I usually come for business. The central location with a beautiful garden and outside dining area helps you wind down quickly after a long working day. Rooms are nice and provide some space, very good beds and bedding. If you get a room at the seaside of the building, the... More

The service is very good and more over the quality of food is excellent. The staff are very courteous and make sure you have a comfortable stay. The location of the hotel is fantastic and the place is silent though the hotel is in the city center.

I stay at the Serena hotels whenever I travel to East Africa, the Serena Dar is the lowest in quality and service among the group specially when compared to Serena Nairobi, but still very good hotel compared to rest of Dar hotels. The rooms are old but satisfactory. Food is average, would expect better breakfast. But this is as you... More

I expected a lot after reading the reviews about Serena. However I was disappointed about a number of things such as the ceiling outside the bathroom door leaking, air conditioner was not functioning properly and the room service was terrible, they forgot our orders and I had to call back after almost an hour for it to be delivered to the room.

The hotel has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are large and comfortable, huge bathrooms and very well appointed. Comfortable beds, and lots of hanging space and drawers. The public rooms are light and airy. We were spoilt for choice with the excellent array of food at the buffet lunch, and again in the evening. The service is a... More

We stayed at the Serena hotel upon arrival in Tanzania. After many hours in an airplane it was a welcome respite. The Serena offered a great breakfast buffet, and the grounds and pool were well appointed.

This hotel is a hive of political activity so accessing it is difficult. Army, police everywhere. The lobby and rooms are dated and need a facelift. Good location but noisy. The staff are great and the Spa was excellent. Would recommend for a few days only.

I stayed for two nights at the Serena in Dar. On a business visit, they made my stay very comfortable. The staff at this hotel have a consistently high service ethic. They are complemented by the very comfortable rooms, but for me hotels are firstly about the people who are there to serve me.

Short visit to Serena to enjoy buffet lunch. Great food and good choices on offer after meeting business partners. Great service from the crew. Enjoyed some masala tea. ... Thanks for a lovely experience...

We decided to pay the rate for this hotel which was more expensive than others in its category and in truth this hotel was not worth $232usd. The rooms were old fashioned and old a bit 1980's the bathroom was in need of a desperate renovation and in general the whole place alike. If I can commend something was the... More
